    Million Dollar Listing - NY

I just discovered this show and have managed to watch all of this season's episodes. Was this the first year of the show?

I like all three of the real estate agents and am certainly intrigued with how they handle their careers in the Big Apple. This is a reality show so I realize a lot of their differences and interactions are a bit contrived but I still enjoyed this show.

Fredric can be ruthless but he would never be as successful if he weren't. This guy is bold. It was interesting to watch his inner softer side come to the surface as the season progressed. I went from not liking him much to becoming more interested in his personal life and interesting career choices. He is one heck of a real estate agent. Wow! Talk about drive.

Ryan's personality is unique. I love/hate him at the same time. He, too, is a real estate marvel but his distrust of Fredric is over the top. Sure, the animosity is built up because of television but I sense this rivalry is real. IF this isn't the first season of this show... Will somebody give me the back story between these two guys? Thanks.

Luis is simply a doll! Love the fact that he's learning as he goes along and is blossoming. Looking forward to watching his career progress.

Many of these apartment are gorgeous. However, that awful space which was looking like a church was beyond awful and creepy.

I think this is the second season....I actually like the spaces they show more than the personalities. I think last year, they spent more time on the apartments ( unless I am confusing this show with another NYC show) than the 4 men. Regardless, the NYC wealthy life-style is something to see.

I think this is the 3rd season but I could be wrong & this was a spin off of the LA version.. I absolutely love this show & now I hooked my son. There was another guy on the first 2 seasons who was then replaced by Luiz, a Michael who was about as interesting as watching paint dry. I think he left/re-cast because the show did not improve his business. I believe his parents are huge in the NYC real estate arena & he did not show well against their success. Ryan & Fredrick both sell basically to the same clients so I would imagine there would be friction.
Million Dollar Listing LA starts next Wednesday. It is okay but not nearly as great as Ryan & Fredrick.

This was the second season. The guy who was replaced by Luis was a bit of a bumbler like Luis. But his dad was a star of nyc real estate so his daddy issues were supposed to be his story. Luis is much more entertaining to watch. I can't stand Fredric and was really hoping his Trump deal would fail last night. He is way too self involved for me to sympathize with him. I watched their "reunion" on WWHL last night and it was tense! Fredric was trying to play the victim acting like he'd done nothing wrong. He spent all season stabbing people in the back and them was surprised they didn't like it? I wondered if he wasn't putting himself in a position to hold out for more money next season. The show wouldn't be the same without him, but he's not worth as much as he'd likely demand.

I think the show is more contrived this season and I didn't care for it as much. I used to find Frederick amusing, but he has pushed my last button. Whether it's really him or a script, I can't stand him. Someone remind me why he imitates the bird stance and call.

Louis can be charming, but he should learn some class, if that's possible. He's trying, based on his words at the What What's Happening Live with Andy last night.

I guess I like Ryan the best, though he can be sneaky. I fell asleep before he ran the tape last night. What was on it?

    Thanks to all of you.

My feelings for Fredric are all over the place.

The tape Ryan ran was a cartoon and not the porn Fredric was a part of ten years ago. Ryan enjoyed watching Fredric squirm with the mere thought of being "exposed". However, I got the impression, many brokers in the room were/are well aware of Fredric's porn film anyway.

Totally dislike Fredrik and his creepy "bird dance". He's an arrogant self-promoter with no integrity and I believe his phony apology to Luis was to repair his totally tarnished image. I love Ryan and my favorite line of the season was, "I am the American Dream and you're just a cheap foreign import." Three seasons of Fredrik and I am soooo over him. Dump him for the next season!

I'm really looking forward to the Million Dollar Listing - LA starting next week!!

I do suspect the storylines are very scripted. I wish they would ease up on it. Bravo is so compelled to push the drama that it gets in the way of the viewer actually knowing the players. I really wish they would let things be more natural. I even like the real estate shows that don't pump out drama. I can't recall their names, but they have one in NY and LA, I think. They feature more mature realtors and a couple are women.

Great point Newsboi! That's why I like the Bravo version better. Like the Hiusewives shows, Million Dollar Listing and other Bravo shows include, along with the manipulated drama, a glance of the sacrifice needed to have the success they do. We see Fredric being a jerk and making millions, but also see him being pulled between work and his wedding. We see Ryan being charming and making millions. But we also see that when. Hurricane comes through he's alone with no one to turn to. There Re a lot of sacrifices to be made to get the lives people think are glamorous and desirable. I like that Bravo has come up with an entertaining way to remind people of that.
