I was just going to say the same thing

Reg. Fredrick and his partner...what I don't understand in all that is why the didn't discuss the baby situation in fine detail before getting married. I like to think that at their age, the should know better??? Otherwise, they do seem to be a good fit, and I do find the situation to be sad.

I enjoy these guys. Andy said once that he thought they were the best 3 characters on all Bravo shows right now, and I totally agree. Each is unique and very charismatic.

Reg. Fredrick's and Luis' falling out.....I think Fredrick genuinely wanted to help Louis and that it was coming from a genuine place. However, I think his efforts weren't for free and that would have relished in having a mini-me version of himself. Perhaps Louis should have stuck around the townhouse flipper and just glossed over Frederik's commentary along the way. He through away a potentially good relationship.

This is by far, my favorite of the real estate shows. I LOVE NY, and of all the NY real estate shows, I think this one is the best - although "Selling New York" is pretty good too, but it doesn't have much of the personal life of the agents, and I enjoy that part of the shows too.

The biggest surprises for me, this season, had to do with Ryan. I always saw him as pretty much just a pretty-boy playboy, where women were concerned, and I didn't think much else about his personal life, except that it struck me as very weird that he had (and really loved) a pet snake (on the first season - as we watched him feed live mice to the snake. Ugh!), and then last season, wasn't he the one with that fat pet pig???? But, I didn't realize, until this season how romantically REPRESSED Ryan is. Wow! And it was really nice seeing him allow the cameras to show him being somewhat introspective, and sharing some of his background with his girlfriend Emelia --- and then actually trying to change for her.

They did show Ryan during Hurricane Sandy as a sort of lonely guy who, when there was no business to be done, didn't much know what to do with himself.

I didn't watch the first season of the show and slowly began to enjoy it during season two. To be honest, in the beginning, I thought Ryan was gay and in the closet. I soon realized I was wrong and that he's just a guy with a thousand unique layers to him. We've since learned he had/has personal issues with his dad(s) which is probably the underlying cause of his never ending internal battles. Anyway, I am thrilled he found Emelia. She certainly has brought a wonderful and open layer of Ryan to the forefront. He seems genuinely happy.

Ryan had me when he was showing that house with the doll heads in the basement. He was petrified, lol. I wouldn't have been able to go down there - it was really too weird!

That was a great dynamic. Ryan was starting to think the woman was a little cuckoo but then she put him in his place when she said "they are just dolls, after all" ... or something like that. She may have been old but she knew exactly what was going through Ryan's mind. I enjoyed it.

I just read Ryan's most recent blog on Bravo. He talks a little about how many of his customers don't want to be filmed. It occurred to me that none of the guys really show that many customers....maybe one new one every episode or something. Perhaps that is why we see so much of their personal lives???

To me, focusing on one piece of real estate for each agent per episode is ideal, and it's a perfect balance between each agents showing his property listing and each guy showing his own life. THAT'S how I like my reality shows, with a great balance between the cast members doing their own thing (work, charities, whatever) and their personal lives, and their interaction with each other ---

Of course, some reality shows are set up to be pretty much entirely about the job (like, for example the cooking competition shows) and practically nothing about themselves personally, and vice versa with others, like the Real Housewives. But, even in the early days of the RH franchises, especially RHOC and RHNY, the balance was different than it is now. There was sooooo much more time showing the women in their working and/or charities environment, and much less of the artificially manufactured trips and lunches and parties that were nothing more than set-up social settings to get the cast together so they could gossip about each other and/or confront each other.

Ryan was back to being kinda jerk-ish on the reunion show last night.

I think his disdain for Fredrik is apparent. Those two guys just.don't.like.each.other. and their competitive nature trumps being civil when they're in the same room.

I have no idea why Andy brought up the Fredrik/Ryan conflict over the porn flick other than to fan the flames. It's ancient history. (Well, I understand why it was brought up but think that subject should have been left alone.)
