Here Comes Honey Boo Boo

Ok well to be honest with you having never watched T&T I had no clue about this Honey Boo Boo BUT that being said I went to TLC and read all about this show AND because I will admit I love a TRAIN WRECK I will be tuning in!!!!!!! (At least for one episode)!

My only problem is the first epi is August 8th @10pm! I am and will continue to be on vacation touring throughout New England until I return to SoCal on August 13th! I was planning on watching a rerun of the first epi (when I return) and possibly catching the second epi IF key word IF I can get through the first epi! :D

THEN I will gladly give a full report!!!! Hahaha!!!!!

While watching something on tv, I saw a preview for it and although I normally FF thru all ads, I stopped and watched because of the thread here.

I think the TLC PTB have allowed themselves to fall victim to what I like to think of as the "Rubbernecking Syndrome" of reality TV. I.E., the more outrageous, ridiculous, different, insane or off-the-chain the premise or format of a show is, the more likely it is that people will slow down, take a look, become fascinated with the "WTF!" aspect and keep tuning in and increasing their ratings.

Or, at least that's what I think they HOPE for, anyway.

I thought "TLC" was originally supposed to stand for The Learning Channel.

Maybe somebody has some thoughts they'd like to put out here on what exactly it is that we're supposed to be learning from Honey Boo Boo and her clan?

I, for one, would really be interested in hearing those thoughts.
