saw previews for the new show, I hope it is not as scripted as it feels. There won't be much of it left if they sell out

I don't watch Duck Dynasty but a friend of mine on the Council of the Blind, Nancy, says her brother is joining the show. I think she said his name is Corey. He's growing out a beard in preparation for it. Apparently, they've both known the family for years.

I doubt I'll start watching the show now because of this but I thought people on the forum might be interested to know.

I support Phil Robertson and his right to stand strong in his belief. So many other shows simply put a disclaimer that the opinions held by the performer are not necessarily those of the network. Something similar should have been done in this case. Don't ask for an opinion if you don't want to hear the answer.

Edited to add: The last sentence was directed toward the person interviewing Phil Robertson, and no one on this forum. After rereading it I wanted to clarify.

Well, I guess Ol' Phil understands that speaking his mind also enables his money sources to speak theirs and cut him off. You get what you pay for! Sometimes, it's smart to think before you open your mouth.

His freedom of speech was NOT infringed on. He is not in jail, he is not facing charges, he got to say what he wanted. As such, the company he works for got to do what they wanted as well.

Yep, he can speak his mind and have an opinion and his employers also have the right to rebuke his opinion. While still continuing to air this show and rake in the cash. So he got a proverbial slap on the hand, while Paula Deen was crucified and her empire crumbled. I guess racism is worse than homophobia. Didn't realize they were measurable, but apparently it is.
