heard today that beards like the DD guys age a man a decade. I believe it, there were tons of pictures of the DD guys pre-beard, they looked so young

I think they were still rather young when those were taken. At least the ones I've seen. From what I've read, they've had those beards, to some degree, for quite a while. Although when the show took off, they let them just go wild.

At least Jase did not play the "Do You Know Who I Am?" like some celebs do!

I just watched this show for the first time. I liked it and will keep watching as I think I'll enjoy it more once I know the characters more. I love Si with his dozens of "Rule Number One" statements.

They are a good looking family for sure. No wonder they ended up with good looking wives. Something is in the genetic gene pool for this group. I will say that the preacher is handsome to me. He looks a bit like younger Kevin Spacey.

Jase used to be my favorite - next to Uncle Si, of course, but Miss Kay constantly amazes me. She is clearly the glue that held the family together so they could get to where they are today. Phil is damn right. The $15 marriage fee was the best money he ever spent. I'm glad he recognizes it.

So, I put Miss Kay on top. Si next. And for the bothers, I've done a 180 and now have Willie and Jeb ahead of Jase.

I also REALLY like Godwin and Martin and I hope to more of them and their stories. I also hope they are getting paid well for the show because they actually are a very important part and would be hard to replace. And Mountain Man popping in from time to time is perfect.

Read up on the Roberson family and you will discover how they met their wives and how long they have been together. Very nice in this day.

I am afraid it is becoming too "scripted" it is like they have sold out. They will lose their appeal
