Did anyone get through the second half of the reunion show? I made it to the episode preview at the beginning of the episode and couldn't do it. Abby going after Cathy's mother was just out of bounds. Cathy is a horrid shrew, but it was a out of bounds to make nasty comments about her mother.

In that preview, Cathy was yammering on about how she beat Abby. Did Abby point out that Cathy beat her using dancers she didn't train performing a routine she didn't choreograph? All that happened is that someone else taught those kids the routine at Cathy's studio.

I love watching the girls dance, but I've become increasingly intolerant of the nastiness from the adults on this show.

Abby going after Cathy's mother was just out of bounds.
That clip was out of context ... Abby was left handedly expressing pity for Cathy's mother for having Cathy as a daughter.
Abby meant to say you disgraced your POOR mother ... and then said pathetic mother instead.

I did watch it and that little girl Sophie danced and she is a lovely dancer ... but I thought the dance moves were a tad sexy for a ten year old.

Chloe wasn't there because of the criticisms by Cathy's choreographer.

OH MY!!!! Is there really a dancer whom has been termed as "sexualized", other than Asia??? Good to know that I wasn't the only person who saw that. I hope it made other people uncomfortable since they were going after Asia. These people have had different training, and they show it.

It was Paige that was embarrassed by Cathy's choreographer. And she was there, she did the group number, but opted out of doing a solo because of the embarrassment

I'm not sure why, but I just don't "get" Sophia. I really don't enjoy watching her dance. As mean and nasty as she is, I think Abby is a good teacher. Sophie says she practices at least 40 hours per week. None of Abby's girls practice anywhere near that much, but some of them are very good dancers and a pleasure to watch.

I wish Cathy and her Apples would just go away. Forever. She is one nasty woman.

Isn't forty hours a week excessive for a child her age? I remember reading that young gymnasts who practice that much run an increased risk of injury, because their growing bodies just aren't built for that kind of physical punishment. For that matter, if she practices forty hours a week, that's like a full time job. When the heck does she work her schoolwork in, even if she's home-schooled?

I think they had said on an earlier episode that Sophie only gets 4 or 5 hours of schooling a week. It's been awhile so the number may be wrong but I remember as a teacher being horrified that she wasn't getting the education she needs. I remember Holly being shocked as well.
This is not about being home-schooled, it's about the amount of time she was schooled.

If it's true that Sophia gets so little academic instruction every week, I'm amazed her mother hasn't been reported to the authorities. I wonder what the state requirements are where she lives. The likelihood of ANY child having a professional dance career are VERY slim. Shame on her mother for placing so little emphasis on education. She's not doing her child a service.

I think that quote from dance moms was edited weird and she actually does 4 or 5 hours of school a day.

I'm glad to hear it, although I still don't think that's enough time.
