I hope you get to go check the place out, AZChristian! Let us know how it goes. I'd love to hear the latest as to what's going on there.
They're b-a-a-a-a-c-k! Amy's Baking Company returns to Kitchen Nightmares.
I will say that given I've read they're still attacking Ramsay and saying "Karma" for him being sued for something... I predict we'll see a repeat of what happened last go.
This is what gets me the most about this couple:
a. They should've known the moment they were asked (or applied for) a show with Gordon Ramsay they weren't going to have a glowing review and have their detractor's comments debunked. Ramsay was going to find some negative.
b. Even if the claim that things were staged was true, 1. WHY would you allow yourself to act that way when it could hurt your restaurant, and 2. just not respond to their request?
c. If the reality TV show hurt them, why did they decide they needed to create their own reality TV show (which was a pilot and not picked up) and why allow themselves back on "KN"? It's been about a year, they could decline the return to the show.
d. They have potential - based on reviews I've read, to do better, but they keep attacking the guy who did at least consider trying to help them. Why did they throw it away, then get mad at people's responses to their behavior?
Now, I don't see Ramsay as a saint - he has some issues of his own (for starters, not fussing harder with the producers of "Hell's Kitchen" to stop casting too many inept cooks.), but this show he does want to give them a fighting chance to succeed. Now, do all restaurants survive? - no, but many are too far gone that it doesn't help, even if they do try hard.
And do I think the couple can succeed long term? - yes, if they'd pull back the attacks and focus more on their cooking. As it stands, I seriously think long term they will go out of business in a year or so. Their publicity from these two "KN" episodes and such will only last so long. Even they know it - because if they didn't, why continue to scramble for any media to show them in public light?
I didn't see the Amy's Baking Company episode, but I just read that it will be shown in its entirety on Feb. 21 on FOX before the second visit episode.
Amy and her husband are not done messing with the world yet.
