HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - ABC has signed a production deal with "The Bachelor" producers Mike Fleiss and Telepictures Prods.
The deal includes a commitment from the network for a minimum of two reality series and a sitcom. At least one of the reality shows could bow by midseason.
Fleiss, through his Next Entertainment banner, is one of the most prolific developers of original, non-imported primetime reality series.
In addition to the two to-be-determined ABC reality series, Next Entertainment and Warner Bros. division Telepictures have produced two seasons of ABC's hit "The Bachelor"; production is under way on spinoff "The Bachelorette," which is set to debut at midseason.
Next and Telepictures, which recently extended their existing two-year overall deal, also recently wrapped production on "High School Reunion," a midseason reality show for the WB.
Fleiss' other credits include the controversial Fox reality special "Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire" and "Battle of Child Geniuses." He is also working on New Line's feature film remake of horror classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
