I liked the colors but thought the "big event" aspect was tacky, although I get that it was likely a TLC suggested and sponsored display.

Probably, I never once heard the word "budget" or "price" come up....Originally Posted by coltnlasma;4088725;
Where is Robyn's husband? I think she said that he was a polygamist so I imagine he can't come out protesting the lifestyle, but imagine if it were a single, 'non-polygamy practicing' man--oh, there would be a media circus!
Perhaps after a baby or two and wife #5, Robyn will be like the others......Originally Posted by dreamonia;4088661;

Maybe it's Kody's favorite color?Originally Posted by prhoshay;4088711;

I guess as long as you are cleared (disease free) when you marry and everyone is faithful (as in no "outside" lovers), you would be as safe from STDs as monogamous couples are.Originally Posted by sarahbear;4088552;

I guess, but still, just the idea of your husband hopping from bed to bed each night. Uggggh. It's kind of gross IMO. I don't think I could adjust to that. I don't want to be graphic, but I don't think he could take enough showers to erase the thoughts from my head.Originally Posted by Poppy Fields;4088791;
I was bothered by Kody walking each of his "wives" (even though he really only has 1) out after the reception. Knowing that your "husband" is escorting you out and then he's going off to have sex with the next "non-wife"......eeeewwwwww and you pretend to be happy about it. I just don't know how you can not think about what you and your "husband" do in the bedroom, knowing that they are going off to do the same acts of intimacy. This is a mentality I just do not get.

I am thinking that wives #2 and #3 might just be sick of child-bearing at this point, and are happy to now have a spare "womb."

As I said above, Robyn's husband is from out of state. He wants no part of the show, and is most likely carrying on with his chosen lifestyle.Originally Posted by mindy384;4088742;
Robyn has obviously been ignored for several years and I think she is really enjoying the (perceived) attention she is getting from Kody. That will most like wear off when wife no. 5 rolls in and takes over.
I read the show has not been picked up for a second season. There is way too much backlash in the community. They are not even welcomed in their own ward (church house). I'd be happy if I never see them or hear about them again. It is an interesting topic, but not an interesting or realistic family.
I didn't realize those who chose this lifestyle attended regular LDS church. I bet they will be asked tlo leave.Originally Posted by J.D.;4088859;
Oh, for you Mormons who may know this please comment. If you are sealed to your spouse in the Mormon Temple, (I think there is one in D.C., Salt Lake and a few other places.) how can the men with multiple wives be sealed to their spouses. If the LDS know you have multiple wives, then they wouldn't let you get sealed, but what if you are not with the mainstream LDS church? Do they believe in being sealed too? Just curious.
