Everything about this show is over the top. Chef Novelli's strictness, his criticisms of the food, his anger with the blender, the chef's assistant Joel's tan, his grimaces, his nails, Suzanne's hand gestures while she talks, Kup's bitching about other students, Zoe's cuteness, Sarah's sucking up, just three students getting to party while the others are kicked to the curb... everything is over the top. I am enjoying it! :-) We already have Top Chef, this show can be titled "Over the Top" Chef.

I just don't know what to think of this show.

I don't like it and yet I can't stop watching it! It's crazy. Like this insane love/hate thing I have going with it. I can't stand Novelli and yet I can't stop watching him. He fascinates me. Then there are the other characters on this show, none of them what I would call likable (other than Zoe) and yet I can't stop watching them either.

It's like this train wreck that I'm enjoying in spite of myself.

The only redeeming qualities on this show are the fiance, the executive chef (Kitchen?), Suzanne, Zoe, and the producer lady who took them to the farmer's market. Kup/Kyle are despicable and I really want them gone ASAP.

There's some eye candy in this show (Chef Novelli, Emmanuel, Zoe) but other than that, I don't get it. Seems like a dumb cooking school, where all they learn is how to re-create the chef's dishes and the only technique they learn is incidental to the dish they're preparing. I'll probably forget it's on once Million Dollar Listing is over and doesn't lead into it anymore.

Hmm, speaking of Million Dollar Listing . . . all Bravo shows (except Top Chef) are really cheesy, come to think of it. I should be so cheesy and make the money Bravo makes, lol!

I really do love this show. Comparing it to Hell's Kitchen, I like the way he teaches instead of cussing everyone out and throwing trash cans around. I like how he let his 2nd in command (Mr. Kitchen?) decide late-boy's punishment.

Hope this goes for more than one season.

There was an article in our local paper recently about Kup. He is/was in the Navy, stationed nearby. Didn't realize he was the "local favorite". Of course, he couldn't say how the whole thing turned out for him, but the piece ended on a positive note.

I like the "over the top chef" name!

I was pretty surprised at the dead animal room in Suzanne's house! I mean, yikes! I was born and raised in Southern California, and I would have thought that she was playing something like that to a tough crowd! Most of my Cali friends would have freaked out - and possibly made a Home Depot run for some red paint!

I'm liking this show less with each episode. What kind of teacher rewards his students for following stupid instructions (as he did with the lemon pits and garlic chunks)? Worse, what kind of teacher sadistically fakes out his students by pretending to hate their dishes? He's a manipulative jerk and his croque-en-bouche was tacky looking.

I agree with the stupid "fake out" thing, not necessary or professional. I also hated in tonight's episode where Novelli asked Emmanuel (ex porn star) to strip and be a waiter at the dinner party Novelli threw for the winning student. Stupid

Also cannot stand Sarah (the tall chick with the big forehead). I hope she gets kicked off soon. Very irritating person.

The Emmanuel thing and all involved (Tracy and assistant) creep me out. I like the FOOD part, can we please keep focus????

I kept thinking, "Is she going to touch her food after fondling his bare butt?"
