    Sex Rehab With Dr. Drew

Just caught a part of this newest Dr. Drew offering. It looks like it follows the same set up as the Chemical / alcohol addiction show. I don't recognize most of these people..but I did see that Amber the model is back for this issue. Sad becasue she is so gorgeous...and has kept her looks which often does not happen.

I don't know how many earlier episodes I missed, but I did see this one.. so Dr. Drew is back

There have only been two episodes so far.

That Carrie Ann girl is an obnoxious spoiled brat. She won't get out of bed....makes everyone wait for her so that they can do group...has to have juice brought to her before she can get out of bed. Ugh. Get her off the show!

Some of these stories are pretty sad. I feel for Amber that she went from using drugs to using men. I hope she can work her issues out and start to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Re: Dr Drew and Celebrity Sex Addiction Rehab

I've watched two episodes. It's weird 'sitting in' on their counseling sessions, since these people are there to get some badly needed help. It feels off somehow that a camera is there. Yet, it's interesting, too; and they did sign up to do it. I'm just not sure it's in the patients' best interests.

I've been reading Dr. Drew's book about "celebrity narcissism" and it makes me wonder how the (filmed) sessions can remain untainted by the performers' need to 'perform' or to get approval. That seems at odds with therapeutic progress.

Still, I sit there thinking "They're missing this" or "they're missing that," like an armchair shrink. It's a weird feeling. For instance, I thought the ex musician guy is almost competing with the others because he doesn't feel "sick enough." It seemed as if, from his telling, he uses sex to quell anxiety and keep grief at bay. But, no one addressed his concerns or confusion directly. He seemed to leave the session frustrated. The other guy? It seemed he was much smarter and quicker than either Dr. Drew or the woman therapist, so he almost took himself through the session.

    Therapy as entertainment is strange.

Ok this show is new for me but please explain the sense in putting a bunch of horny sex addicts in close proximity to one another?
Isn't that like keeping beer in the center's frige?

Yes, it is exactly like that, but alcohol addicts have to deal with the fact that beer is very available in the real world, and sex addicts have to deal with the fact that attractive people and sex are available in the real world. Therefore, I would think that although having all those attractive horny people together would be much more difficult and frustrating for the sex addicts, the benefits of hearing each others' stories and offering each other the support that only a fellow-sex addict could give, would make the set up very beneficial to the addicts, in the long run.

Group therapy is used often for sexual addicts. That's not unusual at all.

Carrie Anne is a spoiled brat with her "princess requests" and all. I understand that the addicts have to be treated a little differently, emotionally wise, but all of the group should be held to the same standards. It was not fair that

Is it weird the most likeable person on the show is the porn star??? The surfer guy is sweet too, like a poor little lost soul.

The definition of "celebrity" sure is being stretched to its outer limits with this show. Lukas Rossi's wife?

I agree that they are stretching with the "celebrities" they have on this show. But believe it or not, Kendra Jade (Rossi) is actually fairly well known in certain "scenes." She, too, is a former porn star. I'm not saying I agree she is a "celebrity," but I know I first heard of her a few years back from 'The Howard Stern show.' I actually really like her. She seems to be genuinely interested in turning her life around. She's been out of the porn business for over 10 years, I think, and has tried to focus her career on being an Entertainment Manager. She seems fairly smart to me, and I also think she seems like a sweetheart. Haven't seen the recent episode of 'Celebrity Sex Addiction Rehab,' so I'm not sure how she has portrayed herself, but when I've seen her on other shows, she seems like a nice person.

Re: Dr Drew and Celebrity Sex Addiction Rehab

I missed the third episode last night but I finally caught the first episode when we met everybody and I do agree that Penny Flame -porn star- does come across as very likable....and very desperate to change things. Carrie Anne's only claim to fame was Miss Teen America ( dethroned)...whatever would she be doing in the years since to support herself? The surfer guy has not yet shown us much nor has the requisite rock star. The third guy ( odd that there are more women than men) had a horrific story and again I am curious what his livlihood has been since the only movie to his credit is that of the con he pulled in his own life. Amber may have a really ugly story that we have ot heard yet.....I am curious about her and the other 2 women --Playboy model? and the rocker's wife seem real.
