I don't know. I think a family like the Roloffs initially did the show to educate people about their situation. To show us that they really aren't that different, have the same struggles etc...The show does deal quite a lot with their involvement in the LPA and bringing about awareness of others in their situation that we may not have otherwise known of.

I think that education was how they justified it. But I think ultimately, with the type of business person he is, it was about marketing themselves for the money.

I'd be hard pressed to take the money if I thought it might harm my family - but hey, that's just me.

I agree if it meant putting my children on TV and exploiting them to get money and destroying my family in the process i wouldn't. But that's just me too.

They probably did this show with all the best intentions but frankly I think the kids would be the same whether or not. I don't think the roloffs were doing too badly before, but getting all that remodeling etc., sure has helped hasn't it?

New episode TONIGHT!

Mother's Day weekend is also the twins' 19th birthday, and Matt shocks everyone by announcing that he's going to Hawaii - alone. Feeling abandoned, Amy does her best to plan a fun camping trip for the kids.

Should be interesting........

So far this episode is blah. I guess I just cannot get past how messy they all live and it seems to me they are all so materialistic.
