    Re: Battle of the Blades

I am salivating, waiting for this show to come on. Some of favourite figure skaters (Shae Lynn Bourne etc.) will be on it. Can't wait! LOL

Xmaskat: Barb Underhill used to skate with Paul Martini....they were wonderful together.

EDIT: Oops! Didn't see that Lobeck had already responded to Xmaskat's question.

He was great, ITA!! I'm having a hard timing choosing a favourite. They were all great. Ok, they aren't figure skaters, but its awesome watching a hockey player figure skate. I'm loving this show. As much as I don't care for Tie Domi, you have to love him. I disliked Bob Probert when he was in the NHL, big goofy fighter, but now I love him!!!

These big guys are really putting on a show for their charities, its a great idea. The tickets are very reasonable as well. $5??

I'm still not clear of the format, I guess we'll find out tonight, who gets eliminated?

I hope this continues for many more seasons.

I liked it too. So interesting to see these guys trying to master the moves. We heard that one guy did drop his partner in practice and knock her out!! She is bave for getting out there again with him--cant remember which hockey player did it.
It was fun seeing Kurt Browning and Ron Maclean hosting. There are supposed to be guest judges every week too.

    Re: Battle of the Blades

I enjoyed the show. First of all, it's always great to see my favourites like Shae-lynn Bourne and Jamie Sale skating. And seeing them on this show skating with the hockey players is icing on the cake. It's funny seeing the big, stocky guys skating in pairs/dance routines to music. I thought all the guys did great, considering. It was especially great seeing Tie Domi out of his element in this way. Never thought I'd ever see the day...lol And the fact that they're doing it for their favourite charities makes it all the more endearing. Can't wait until the results show tonight.

    Great idea for a show.

I can't remember either, but he almost had tears in his eyes, when the judge told the audience what happened during practice. They certainly don't tear when they were fighting eh?!!

And I can't remember who it was that skated with ice hockey skates. I was too mesmerized by it all!

I'm glad that each pair get something for their charity even if they don't win. I forget how much, $25,000?

I must pay attention instead of focusing on the NHL'ers on ice!

It was Barb Underhill who skated in the hockey skates.
