    Holidate (Soap.net) (Wed. 10 pm/9c)

    Holidate
    .Premieres July 29th at 10PM/9c

What if the perfect guy for you is somewhere else? Each week on SOAPnet's new original reality series, two women will switch cities and go on dates handpicked for them. They may date each other's friends, brothers, or coworkers in the hope of finding true love. This July, take a Holidate
    .

This sounds different, sort of like a combo Holiday movie and Love Match New York (or whatever)

I must say that I enjoyed the premier episode of this show. But, as can be expected when you are trying to squeeze 6 dates/3 per woman in an hour show, the pace of the dates shown was very amped up.

At least they didn't demand an engagement ring from anyone and in this episode, it appeared that Christin and Max actually are still in contact and he has plans to use his free airline ticket to visit California.
As for Tai & Chris, they may still be in contact but he has not made plans to use his ticket to visit New York

I think next week involves women switching between LA and Houston. Looks interesting

I really enjoyed this week's episode. I felt like, for the most part, the guys were good matches and the dates were pretty cool. It seems like the men really took into account the ladies' interests.

I have to say, I didn't think Jacky was going to choose Ryan. I was sure she'd pick Sam although, personally, I would have chosen Rob. According to her blog on the show's site, she hasn't heard from Ryan in about a month, but is in touch with Rob.

I think it was clear Cynthia was going to pick Jasyn from the get go. There was just electricity between them. I must say, he seemed pretty perfect for her and said all the right things without sounding like he was reading from a script. Plus, he's adorable. I thought it was very sweet that he said he would have come to visit her even if she hadn't given him the plane ticket. As she was writing her blog, he was visiting her in Houston and was planning on introducing her to his family - she said she'd already spoken to his mom on the phone. It sounds like this show might have actually produced a viable relationship.

I do like the "Here's a plane ticket to visit" type of "prize." I haven't watched the show yet, but I might try to catch it when it is on. Sounds much more reasonable than "Here is your prize ... a spouse!"
