They all say no cheese with fish. I guess I am not a chef, I put cheese on my fish sandwichQuote:

I also cook seafood with cheeses, such as stir fried shrip with bread crumbs and parmesan. I wonder if those judges ever heard of Lobster Thermidor -- a rather popular recipe in fine dining seafood recipes.
But does it have raw onions in it :rofl
Or Coquilles St. Jacques. [haven't had that in years - now I'm craving it and will have to make it soon!]Quote:

Best Thing I Ever Ate . . . one of my favorite shows!
I eat cheese and fish together also. Love shrimp alfredo and always put some parmesan on top.
Yeah, I mean, what's a filet-o-fish sandwich without the cheese? It's just not right!:D
Scott Conant is really silly about the onions. Seriously, he expects chefs to not use onions? They are a big part of flavor in cooking. Plus if they are that offensive, they ought not to be available for the chefs to use. He acts like it's personal when they use onions.
I was watching an episode today where the final 2 were both women. The judges were commenting that "it's about time we had 2 women finalists." Huh? Most episodes I've seen have one woman and three men, so it's very rare for there to even be an opportunity for a 2 woman final round.
The "Celebrity Chef" version of Chopped started last night.
All 4 chef-testants were from The Next Food Network Star show:
Season 5 Michael Prioetti
Season 6 Brad Sorenson
Season 5 Debbie Lee
Season 4 Lisa Garza
Michael is still fabulous, Brad is still a cutie (without his hat this time), Debbie is still Korean and Lisa is still fussy and whiny.

Thank you for finding this thread...I searched last night after the show. I do not remember Lisa from "The Next Foodnetwork Star" I remember Debbie (she is Korean you know) I was laughing so hard when I heard her say that at the beginning of the show. This should be an intresting few weeks.
I was not and still not a fan of Michael's, he grates on me.
