J&K could put an end to all of the speculation if they just stated that the children's college educations were fully funded. But I guess they would no longer be able to ask for "love offerings" if they did that

We don't have to "read a lot" into it, Jon himself is admitting it. When Jon says, in the new In Touch interview, that he wants the show to continue because of financial reasons, like the kids' education, that sure sounds like they haven't secured the money they'll need to see all the kids through college. He could have said, "we've made sure our kids will have the money they need for their education," but since he didn't, I don't think it's wild speculation to suspect that this is still an issue.

I think it is pretty obvious that Jon and Kate don't want to give up their lifestyle. "like the kid's eduction" is only an example of some of their expenses. Come on they have 2 mortgages and how many toys with wheels and condos in Utah and look at all the vacations they go on someone has to pay for it and it is the viewing public.

Not to contradict you, but in another article Jon was taking Kate to court because "she kept a very, very tight rein on the money (hmm...I wonder why? )" and that money was stashed around the house and he wasn't sure how much money they had and he wanted to make sure that "he got his fair share." Personally, I'm having a hard time thinking that a woman who apparently holds on to a dollar so hard you can hear George Washington scream and has finangled so many freebies that they really don't have a lot of out of pocket expenses WOULDN'T set aside money for her children's education.

I just think that at this point Jon is saying what is best for Jon and Jon's needs and screw everyone else. There's a reason why he has a publicist now.

As many as she can get for free! Seems like she said Merrillac (sp) wanted to give her a new kitchen.The couple that came over were friends (for a minute until she finishes using them) and they were coordinating the effort.

Again, no one is saying they know for a fact the Gosselins haven't secured the money for their kids' education. But Kate stashing money around the house (if it's true) doesn't prove anything more to me than...she's stashing money around the house. I'm much more convinced about the status of their education savings when Jon says (in the In Touch interview) that he doesn't want the show to end because, "...we have a lot of stuff to pay for, like education," and when it's so obvious that both Jon and Kate are on one helluva spending spree with high-end real estate, cars, and Jon's shopping sprees at Gucci and wherever he bought those $950 shoes. As someone pointed out upthread, it would be easy to stop the public speculation about this subject by making a simple statement that the kids' education needs have been fully funded through college. And no, they're not required to tell us anything, but why wouldn't they be proud to publicize it, as it would support what they've been saying all along--that it's all for the kids.
