Wow. I would imagine it's because of patriarchal issues, not racial ones. There's not a society anywhere that treats women with due fairness, even in Western so-called "civilized" ones. We just know how to point the finger better at others while ignoring our own faults.

Personally, the world would be a better place if EVERYONE treated everyone else with respect, but some people seem to be completely incapable of that.

But back to Jon and Kate:

I can't buy the "Kate drove it to him" nonsense and I can't see how people are constantly defending this guy. Who pops off to France with their new girlfriend before the ink of their divorce papers is even dry? Without even caring that he has children that are old enough to see these pictures? Not condoning Kate's behavior, but I'm beginning to understand her frustration with Jon more because every day Jon is coming across as a man-child who needs to put on his big-boy pants and start acting like an adult. Blimey, I will never say anything bad about the Duggars ever again; Papa Duggar needs to give him a Good Book beat-down and tell him to wake up. Frat boy days are over. You are the father of eight children. Your obligation is to them first and foremost, and your goal is to make sure that they adjust to your divorce as smoothly and pain-free as possible, not tramping it up with ladies in the South of France.

They met the plastic surgeon and his family in 2007. Do the math, people. So much vulgarity. Those poor children.

I would still love to see this "contract" that Kate supposedly gave to Jon last year saying that the marriage was over but just keep showing up for the camera.

That would/could explain a lot of Jon's behavior of late.

What I can't understand is how do the paps get wind of every move these two people make? I think someone is sneaking out this info to the paps, to keep them in the news. I mean they are nowhere near the celeb status of the Britneys, Lindsays, etc., yet the paps are all over them.

I don't think there was every any such contract. I'm thinking that certain things were planted in the media to look sympathetic to John. Whatever Kate is doing on the weekends that Jon is supposed to have the children, she's not shagged up all cozy with some man, posing for the camera.

That's right, it IS the weekend. Why isn't he with the children?

I saw a report on E last night or ET, one of those shows, that Jon leaked the story about Kate cheating with the bodyguard to take the heat off of himself for cheating. The bodyguard has been replaced-so shame on him if a man lost his job just so Jon could take the heat off of himself.

I saw that also. TMZ has pics of Jon and gf in St. Tropez, as well as the story about the possible job with Ed Hardy clothing. They also have the hilarious Kate and e-harmony video.

I assume and would hope that they are both willing to be somewhat flexible where custody is concerned.
Kate supposedly has Monday to Thursday, but I would hope if she has to work then Jon would take then children during that time.

It really would be preferable for Jon not to be seen with his girlfriend, imo.
It's something else the children do not need to deal with.

Wow! How absolutely bizarre this whole story has become. I wonder what is next, Kate having an affair with a dad at school? When Kate had her tummy tuck, did Jon ever go up to the Glassman house? Were the daughter and Jon making goo goo eyes at each other back then? This story is just so bizarre!

Back when Kate had the tummy tuck, I remember she stayed at the Glassman's house to recuperate for a couple of days and she went and got her hair done, etc. I can remember when she came home, she went in to see the tups in their cribs, and one of the girls just kept looking at her with an expression on her face as if she was thinking, "Is that really you, Mommy!?!"

I figured Jon stayed home in PA to take care of the tups. Maybe Aunt Jody helped. I don't think they had not-a-nannies back then.

But I don't think Jon went to visit Kate up at the Glassman's place.

And wouldn't the daughter have been in college at that time? If she is 22, she could have been away at school when Kate had her tummy tuck.

But.....according to the mags, the Gosselins apparently have kept in touch with the Glassmans all this time, so I can see where Jon would have met Hailey at some point.

Yeah, this is really becoming "curiouser and curiouser!"

"Hey, can you switch for me, I have to work" is completely different from "Hey, can I have the kids another day so I can hang out with some chick 20+ years my junior in the South of France."
