Jon needs to grow up and show some better judgement, that's for sure. A young woman wants to drive your new sports car? Fine! Have her come over DURING THE DAY and introduce her to your wife and let her drive the thing all day in front of the photographers. Having her drive it AT NIGHT after you've been in a bar was not wise. Was he inappropriate? Yes. Was he cheating? Who knows.

I don't understand the need to apportion blame in this, they're both at fault.

Yes I agree. They both come off as young and still immature people who got married too young because he was kinda drifty and needed direction and she had a thing for hot young Asian men. She admitted that.

They probably didn't have all that much in common and now look at them.

Wasn't it in the video where Kate refused to give Maddy a drink of water, that Maddy says she likes it with daddy more? I am wondering if John already has a place. I thought she said she likes it better at daddy's....not sure tho..I believe Cara is a daddys girl.

Ha, I've done after having two. Hubby gave it to me for my 30th b-day gift and I am happy as a clam so I don't blame her for having it done either.

On a purely shallow level, I'll admit I'm curious to see what comes out from under Kate's hat when she finally removes it. Clearly she's been affected by the ridicule over the broom hairdo or reverse mullet or the Kate or whatever it's called and she's hiding under the hat until her new 'do is ready. Catty, I know.

Long ago I decided that if I happened to be a neighbor of the Gosselins I would find them both annoying. I just don't like either of them on a personal level. But Jon is like a 2 on the annoyance scale and Kate is a 10+. So as for the back and forth as to which is worse, it's hard not to focus on Kate because she's so much more unlikeable than Jon.

I think the instant they filed papers the plug should have been pulled. It's completely unethical to film children going through a divorce. So if it's true they decided a long time ago to go their separate ways as long as they kept it under wraps - I find the idea so reprehensible that I also think it's unbelievable they would come up with an agreement to fool America but do what they want. They knew they were on camera. I think they were just trying to keep a good face for the cameras and were miserable in the meantime. I just don't think they're that malicious or diabolical. They have their individual flaws, but I can't see them hatching a big scheme just for money.

I can't believe the show wasn't just canceled outright. It's a no-brainer. I am nosily interested in how it plays out, but I can't see how they can justify any more filming.

I only saw commercials. I honestly won't give Kate or TLC the satisfaction of my advertising dollars to watch the show anymore. I just can't stomach how Kate treats Jon. I get much more satisfaction watching the online anti-Kate videos posted by former friends and loved ones.

Anyway, I like your assessment. Cara and Maddy are at the age that they know something is going on.

I really do feel for the kids. I think the true parenting skills of Jon and Kate will be revealled in the divorce and how they handle it in the media. However, I do believe that show-biz kids CAN turn out well as long as they have good parents (i.e. vs. stage parents).

I just got to thinking about TLC...there is talk that even TLC staffers are not happy about working on the show because they feel they are portraying this really cute family when reality is anything but.

I imagine some of them will be called in during the divorce proceedings. I wonder if that is part of the reason why the show is being delayed...TLC's butt is on the line with this one. They can't leave it to Jon and Kate by themselves to fix this crazy mess (i.e. one that TLC facilitated).

IIRC didn't "season four" start with the move to the new house? If not, right around the time of the move, Kate was busy with her travels. She stated that she was conveniently out of town and only got home the night before they moved into the new house. Jon had boxed up most of the stuff, and we saw the kids down in the playroom at the old house climbing on boxes that Jon had packed. Kate was not around until they got to the new digs.

Several other times during this "season" Kate was in "LA" according to the kids.

A lot of the couch interviews showed the strain on the two of them. Neither looked happy. Kate even yawned on one of them and said that she had flown in the night before and was tired!

So I can see where things did start falling apart last season. There were fewer shows with the two of them at home at the same time doing things together. The puppy-buying show was one that I do remember both being on. But they still conned us with the couch interviews, by sitting there together. (Although the body language was quite telling.)

I agree that neither is too bright, but when money is involved (the show!) I can definitely see them trying to pull this off, you know, for the childrens' sake!

More and more, I am totally buying what Kevin and Jodi said about the secret contract that Kate came up with right around the time they moved into the big house.

Some previous poster mentioned something about Jon's affair and not seeing anything pointing to Kate having an affair with the bodyguard. There have been reports that the two of them were quite cozy walking into a hotel or restaurant together and, when they were in NC on that vacation, Maddy woke up and walked into Kate's bedroom and saw Kate and Steve kissing and freaked out! So I think she may have been smarter in keeping things under wraps. Jon got messy and got caught!

I honestly won't give Kate or TLC the satisfaction of my advertising dollars to watch the show anymore. I just can't stomach how Kate treats Jon.

Jexter, I am the same way. I refuse to watch the show as I am usually busy at my son's soccer games but even if I was free I would catch the reruns on CBS or be outside, reading a book. I live in Minnesota and summer is a SHORT season.

Oh come sit by me....I am catty over that darn hair, too. But part of me thinks Kate is just wearing a hat to wear a hat. She never listens to any other advice so why would she listen to a stylist over her awful haircut? Mullet in the front, business in the back.
