The article I read on MSN TV news stated AJ worked at the club, so perhaps it wasn't just a "bar fight," and maybe AJ was protecting others from a crime that was about to be committed. The man was just murdered, and deserves some respect, IMHO.

Maybe, but she just seems to "light up" when she sees Kim. Just seems like she would be a little more distant if she really knew what Kim was really like. From how she has been edited, it just seems like a person would need to earn her trust. Just going by how she reacted towards AJ - - two totally different situations, I know. She seems to adore Kim, and it surprised me a little. Anyway, it was great to see her so proud of Kandi, and she seemed so much more lighter and happier than what they've shown of her so far. Loved seeing it!

I know Kandi has Legal custody of his two 12 yr old twins. I wonder how Riley is going to react now that those kids will be there permanently. The main reason I don't like Kandi is because she chose a man over the well being of her child. I feel for her and those kids though.

I must disagree. I do not see how she chose a man over her child. She didn't rush into the wedding, she was taking it slow because of her mom's disapproval and her child made a comment about not wanting brothers/sisters. She is an adult and deserves to have healthy relationships.

AJ was not a healthy relationship. Yes she does however her daughter deserves to be listened to also. It is possible to have a positive relationship and a man if you choose properly who is around your child.

I can only hope that everything turns out ok for all involved.

Here is another article from BV that talks about AJ's death and the arrest of the suspect including all of Kandi's tweets after the situation. This was a particularly hard time for kandi this week since she also lost her uncle earlier this week. She in fact had to attend her uncle's funeral this morning the day after AJ's death.I think everyone should respect Kandi, AJ, and his children at this time. People should also realize that Kandi's daughter had a close relationship with AJ and this will affect her too.

Kandi took in AJ's 2 twin 12 year old daughters because their biological mother was unable to take care of them at this time. AJ was willing and able to take care of them. However, the girls needed a good female influence and attention in their lives right now and they wanted to stay with Kandi. AJ and the girls mother agreed to this and Kandi became their temporary legal guardian while they are staying with her. Now, with the advent of AJ's death, how long this temporary situation will continue is even more up in the air since there is no longer the possibility of a reconciliation between AJ & Kandi. It will be up to Kandi, the girl's mother, and AJ"S family how the situation ends up. AJ does have an estate with his businesses, but may not have a will. Plus, the girls mother may still not be in a position emotionally & financially to deal with custody. It will also be up to Kandi how long and how much she is willing to continue to be a part of these girls lives.


I think the last episode was a sweet memorial to the good part of Kandi & AJ's relationship. They have been having a RHOA, "Real Housewives of Atlanta" marathon tonight. I wonder what they will do with therest of the season as far as AJ since they were supposed to dea with why AJ & Kandi called a for a relationship break at some point during these last 4 episodes. Plus, whether Kandi will be involved in the reunion show that was due to be filmed next week. This is different the the Real Housewives of OC where they knew about Gretchen's fiance's potential death because of his long battle with cancer. Hopefully, they'll just focus on Kandi's upcoming album release, etc. Will see.

Kandi Burruss: 'Real Housewives' Star Ex-Fiance Dead After Club Brawl




'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Kandi Burruss' ex-fiance Ashley 'A.J.' Jewell was killed after a fight outside popular Atlanta strip club, The Body Tap, late Friday night.


He was rushed to Piedmont Hospital, where he later died.

Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows confirmed, "It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and received a severe blow to the head."

Meadows said that the police have developed a person of interest in the case, adding, "we've made contact with him to question him about the incident."

The Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter's publicist, Lisa Nelson, confirmed to WSBTV.com that Burruss was "stunned and speechless" and that "the family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time."

Burruss, a former member of the platinum '90s R&B group Xscape, recently revealed that she and Jewell split.


The couple, who were engaged earlier this year, have chronicled their relationship on the Bravo reality show 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.'


Burruss is also currently raising Jewell's twin daughters.

"AJ's murder is horrific, not only for his family, including the six beautiful children he is leaving behind, but also for Kandi, who obviously still loves him despite their broken engagement," Atlanta-area entertainment journalist Isoul Harris, who has a professional friendship with Burrus told BV Newswire today. "Also, this is another case of senseless violence that's not only rampant in Atlanta, but all over the country."


UPDATED, 11:33 a.m.: Police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper that they have charged Frederick Richardson with voluntary manslaughter in the beating death of Jewell. Richardson is currently hospitalized at Grady Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the fight. He will be jailed once released by medical staff. Though the cause of the fight is still unknown, police confirmed that witnesses were cooperating.


'It's a great thing that a suspect has been arrested in this case," Harris added. "It surely brings a little comfort to his friends and family."


In the meantime, Burruss, who's a single mother of one daughter, took to Twitter.com early Saturday morning to break her silence about the tragic loss. "I'm bout 2 give my swollen eyes some rest now. I just wanted to say thanks 2 everyone for their prayers. I gotta get up & go 2 my uncle's funeral. I could never in a million years imagine this happening."

The Atlanta native, who also changed her Twitter profile picture to a flick of her and Jewell, ask fans to remember Jewell leaves behind six children. "Please pray for AJ's children, that's who im the most concerned 4. Im just in one of those moods where I dont wanna talk, I dont wanna b held & told its gonna b ok. I just wanna cry myself 2 sleep, alone.""Right now, she is just trying to wrap her head around the fact that he is gone," Harris concluded.

Kandi's mom liking Kim and being sweet to her vs. AJ is a no-brainer for me. Just like Kandi, her mom makes her own decision on people based on what she gets to know of a person. Plus, the person your daughter may marry & have kids with vs. a casual or even semi-close friend who doesn't aske anything of your daughter, is a very different thing. Kim hasn't done anything wrong to Kandi's mom. She hasn't done anything wrong to Kandi, as far as mom knows. She's been sweet, caring, kind, and charming to Kandi's mom and a lot of fun. She's been the same to Kandi, even to the point of including Kandi in that birthday bash totally equally, which she didn't have to do. So, Kandi's mom has no reason but to like Kim and be sweet and caring back. That simple.

“My daughter Brienna was really sick that night,” Kim said. She said she had called Kandi earlier and that Kandi was cool.

As I already mentioned in my original post, I realize AJ and Kim are two totally different situations. You are making waaay more out of what I had originally stated. That simple.
