Master of Dance: TLC

Quote:
Master of Dance
Hosted by Joey Lawrence

TLC's new competition series, Master of Dance, tests contestants' moves by changing the song mid-performance to see if they can really go with the flow. Only the dancers with a full repertoire and the flexibility to keep up with the beat will be able to claim the grand prize of $50,000.

Each episode features five dancers pitted against each other through three elimination rounds, during which they will be tested on style, genre and personality. The winners from the first five episodes will move on to the Tournament of Champions Grand Finale for a dance-off to win the cash prize and title of Master of Dance.

Host Joey Lawrence, who demonstrated his skill onstage when he ranked as second runner-up during the third season of Dancing With the Stars, said of his duties on the show: "I've always had a passion for dancing, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to work with TLC and all the competitors as they battle it out for the grand prize and title Master of Dance."

In addition to Lawrence offering guidance, a panel of judges will critique the performers as well: Lucinda Dickey has been dancing since the age of 4, and studied with the prestigious Roland DuPree Dance Academy. She has appeared onstage and on-screen as a dancer in hits like Solid Gold, Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. Keith "Tyce" Diorio has danced with Paula Abdul, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin and other celebrities. He also appears as a choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance. Loni Love was voted one of 2008's top 20 comics to watch on Comedy Central. A regular on the comedy circuit, she has offered her hilarious pop-culture commentary on numerous television shows..

Master of Dance premieres Monday June 9 at 8 PM ET/PT.
I didn't even know this was coming on. It looks pretty interesting and I'm definitely going to check it out. Anybody see it?

I saw it and thought it was kind of corny and didn't catch my intrest long enough, so I switched over to something else.

My daughter makes us watch everything dance-related, so I had to sit through the entire thing. It was actually not as bad as I thought, although it's definitely nothing I'd recommend. I think its porny as well as corny. I thought a few of those girls were going to bust right out of their tops. Sports bras should be mandatory.

Re: Master of Dance: TLC

From reading the description of the show I thought it was a real dance competition. I had no idea it was "Don't forget the lyrics" set to dance and nowhere near as good (not that I'm a fan of that show). Its a game show! Take average people and have them dance around like fools. You all were right, the show was AWFUL. I usually love awful but there is awful like America's Got Talent (I love that type of awful!) and then there is unwatchable awful like this show.

Its on TLC. I should have known I would hate it. HATED their other reality show they did, anybody remember The Messengers?

Note to self: stay away...far far away...from reality shows on TLC.

LOL you are probably right, I think I was just so disappointed because I had no idea it was basically a game show and sat there in open mouthed shock when the "dancers" came out in street clothes and with non-dancing professions. I barely watched the first routine, thought the drama teacher was killing it but I had already been spoilered how that ended up so didn't watch the rest.

The worst part was all of the flapping breasts. I hope all of the eps aren't going to be like the one I saw.
