I was a little disappointed in both Melissa and Gabe. I feel the contest is between those two but that they faltered. I could hear Gabe's voice cracking in the wrong spots and Melissa did over sing it, it was almost hard to watch and seemed very desperate. I think being that close to the bottom (or at least being given the perception that she was) may have messed with her a little.

Ashlee and Shawn were very good, I know they aren't favorites around here but I see something in those two that I don't in any of the others. They have more potential to be big time record sellers in today's market. It pains me to say that because I do prefer Melissa and Gabe but that's not exactly where country music is right now. Look at who won Can You Duet! ... not the traditional singers.

Anyways, I'm still finding the sound on this show awful and my hate for Rich grows more each time I see him ... poor anybody he decides isn't country enough because he is such the authority on what is country (/sarcasm).

I agree my bf said something about her being over weight and the first person that came to mind was Wynonia. But Melissa has lost almost 70 pounds so she is not as big as she use to be.

Tonight is original song night. I was in Nashville this weekend.
Coffey's song is "Southern Man" which I don't care for at all for. Southern Man is a Neil Young song, not this crap he's singing.

Ashlee was pretty darn good also. I agree that she has a future in country music, without a doubt.
