Date My House I couldn't find a thread on this. Mods, if it is here, feel free to delete! TLC is putting on Date My House, a new home-makeover reality show hosted by former Bachelor fourth-season star Bob Guiney. It premieres Sat., Apri 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT I just saw the commercial. Uh, yuck. It had him pouring champagne. Giving people showing up for an open house an info card with a red rose attached. Feel free to snark. I might tune in to mock it. We will see.

Re: Date My House A little more on this. A "design expert" ( Nadia Geller) basically stages the house. Then, potential buyers get "acquainted" with the house in a "comfortable setting." One potential buyer is picked and can get to, shall we say "second base or farther" by either having a party with friends or family or scoring with a sleep-over. Then, as with the bachelor, (but MUCH more binding, I would think) ... the person decides wether to pop the question. I hope this show has more success than the bach. But with the forclosure rate in the US ........

Re: Date My House Yeah I have seen the commercials for this show on TLC. HGTV has a similar show called Sleep On It. Families narrow their search down to two houses and decide which one they will spend a night in. They actually get 24 hours I think. They get to see how the plumbing, electric, etc. works, how long the commute to and from work will be, and decide if the house is really want they want before signing off on a mortgage. To me, when I saw the TLC commercials, I thought the show sounds like a rip-off of the HGTV show. But (I can't believe I am saying/typing this!) I will probably watch it if it jives with my "must see" shows. Just to see how the Blob is as a host of a show!

Thanks for the brain-jog. Yeah, it is as if they combined "the bachelor" with "Sleep on it." I love Meatloaf, so I remember that show's commercial. I might or might not watch it. | |

Re: Date My House I don't know if I'll be watching, but I'll snark away. It just looks.. bad. The premise, the idea, the host.. everything. I don't know, but surely there are much better things TLC could be hosting for us!
