| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Well folks and fun fans..............as I said before...this program is scripted! It is as obvious as the nose on our faces! The House of Alex and Mr Boob was meant to be a "shack", the Countess is a bore and married for money...wife #4...kids prior to her two....and he does PAY for the prior wives and kids and Bethanney who continues to trash her parents and especially her famous father, Ramona the mess who shows no love for the jewelry man (3rd generation) husband, the icky daughter, then Jill the only one who seems remotely to be real.........................w ell it sells! That is why Season 2 has already been taped for our viewing pleasure. I think it is a HOOT all of our reactions to these MADE UP characters...the producers, writers and financiers LOVE US! It takes us away from "our stuff"...how funny is that?? |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I really have no problem with Alex and Simon. As far as I'm concerned, they're harmless fun. To watch them trying to buy their way into "society" is a hoot. ![]() |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I don't know if Ramona's problem is chemical, emotional or just plain self-delusion, but I do think she is so very insecure of her position in the stupid social ranking that these so called friends of hers have that she over compensates and slits her own throat. I believe she's aware that Jill and Luanne feel that they are on a higher level of society than she currently occupies and it drives her nuts. It is probably the source of her passive/aggressive behavior toward Jill. And it's all so trite, empty and just plain pathetic. With the exception of Elliott Templeton, in 'The Razors Edge', no one gives a damn about their social standing when they are on their death bed. I've been there and believe me it's not what you think about. There are so many things about Ramona that I find appalling, that I can hardly believe that in my first post on this board I'm going to admit that for a moment at that dinner party, when she first questioned Simon's being there when it was supposed to be females only, I liked her. OK, she quickly carried it too far and she could have phrased it better but the fact is she stated what everyone else thought but was too socially constipated to say. The Emperor has no clothes, Simon is not a woman, no matter how often he likes to slip into Alex's leopard/zebra/guinea pig themed gowns. Too bad she doesn't know when to quit and soon became her obnoxious self. But for a brief, shining moment I liked her, I really liked her. I don't expect it to happen again. And I'm grateful that I have the kind of friends I can depend on to inform me if and when I am making a horses-a** of myself, (It has happened) and not smugly and scornfully enjoy themselves at my expense. That was not classy behavior either. Emily Post must be grinding her teeth. |

NO ONE in my age group (60's) will have squat to do with Hanoi Jane ,and I am horrified that Alex and Simon would even consider that woman, that turncoat, that murderess,a "friend". Have they no clue what that woman did to our troops during the Vietnam War?

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Even Hanoi Jane didn't come over and chat with them at the opera. And what dinner did they "socialize" at? I think the Met serves dinner there on-site? Why no film from that? After reading all the posts, I went back and looked at the house. What an atrocity. Where was this au pair? She is MIA at even the party? And she lives in? WHERE? The furniture is SO cheap. And the kid really does eat jelly beans for breakfast! Did everyone leave that restaurant when they showed up? |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City There is a dinner after the actual Opera. This is one of the biggest events for charity and the dinner is gorgeous. In 2007, this event raised over 4 million dollars. Most likely, the cameras were not allowed into that part of the event.

My point exactly, pages back. Why let Simon and Alex get away with it? Class, smass. He was an idiot to show up and there was nothing wrong with Ramona pointing it out. When people are socially tone deaf and their errors aren't pointed out, they'll keep doing it, as obliviously as ever. Anyway, if CarmelCottage is right, it made for good television.
