Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Alex and Simon are frauds, frauds, frauds. The birthday party tells all. While Bethanny is struggling to get past that industrial plastic capsule that all kids' toys are wrapped in these days, you see Alex just standing there--not offering scissors, not offerring to help, not having a freakin' clue how to intercede. Simon and Alex are classic, and I mean classic narcissists. They are not the least bit connected to their children, even though they make a great show of being connected. Ick. Ick. Ick.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I thought Alex was the most unlikeable character - real or imagined - I'd ever seen on TV, until Simon showed up. These 2 people are, IMO, beyond unlikeable - they are truly despicable. I think the reason they're always together is because no one else could probably stand to be with either of them. I don't even know where to begin, but let's start with phony phony phony, and then we'll move on to tasteless, and, for an encore, totally and pitifully clueless. Then, to top it all off, Simon is nasty! At Bethenny's dinner party, he wasn't even invited, yet after Ramona left, he glared at Jill, and accusingly asked her "She's your friend?" He gave the same if-looks-could-kill evil eye to Bethenny after she made the v-a-l-i-u-m joke at Frawntzwarh's birthday party. Phony - they don't have a clue what "society" is, how to be part of it, or how to conduct themselves if they actually were in it. Tasteless - their clothes are laughable. Leopard print nightgown (with train) to the Met opening night? Yellow charmeuse and denim miniskirt to a cocktail party? Gold tie and cumberbund? Clueless - All of Bethenny's gut-reaction remarks to Alex (she's like the Greek chorus of this train wreck) go whoosh! right over Alex's head. Their kid will not get into any hoity-toity school without a haircut and with a diet of gummi bears and cake to produce those nutritionally deficient bags under his eyes. (And pssst, Alex - your husband is gay. Check the memo.) I only hope this couple has been told by Bravo that they've been cast as a parody of a Reality-TV couple. That's my only explanation of them. And if this isn't the parody version of Alex and Simon, then I hope that when they do the parody version, it's Britney Spears playing Alex and Dame Edna playing Simon.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Kudos Rebotco. Remember when Betheny met Alex at the outdoor market? Frankiefile had an eating disorder and Alex asked for her help. You might start by buying food! Oh how I wish Romona had been invited to the B-day party. She would have imploded.Tuesday's show will be a hoot. Frankiefile "I'm smarter than you". Poor little tyke,he's becoming part of the illusion.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City It's obvious that Alex and Simon are the ultimate posers of this series (including Orange County), first off, Simon doesn't make a dreamy income working as a hotel manager, he can try to put a bow on it but its still a service job, he's not out there saving lives or making killer business deals; and he feels inferior because of it. Same w/ Alex, isn't she a rep for Victoria Secret? That's what posers are all about, they typically don't make the big bucks, and they spend all their time trying to show off a make-believe fantasy world of wealth, taste, and intellect to others -in the hopes that they will pull the wool over everyone's eyes. Like the classic poser, Alex and Simon spend all their money on stuff like clothes, private schools, french live-in tutors, $10,000 opera tickets, trips to St Barts, etc - they don't have any money left for the things they actually need, like decent flooring in their home (which was so low rent -IMO). I bet Alex and Simon live paycheck to paycheck, probably no savings at all. And of course, the french thing, posers love all things french, and if those 2 want that kid to speak french, why do they use it so sparingly themselves? Perhaps they aren't as fluent as they advertise. The boy (Fran/swah -I don't know the spelling), probably will rebel and hate and refuse to speak the french language; he also seems very average in the intellect department, I don't mean to pick on the kid, but Alex seems to think he's gifted, but I don't get that vibe at all; based on next week's episode, I got the feeling that the expert w/ Fran/swah doesn't see greatness w/ this boy and he's probably wondering why did those idiot parents bring this kid to me? I would love to see if Alex's son ever got into Claremont w/ the price of tuition being as high as it was, I doubt they can afford 30 thousand bucks a year for him to go. I think they just wanted him to get into a Manhattan magnet public school, cause that will leave more money for vaccations and clothes for the parents.
