| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I have seen many executives take a car service to the airport and when they get out and the driver hands them their bag, they shake his hand and say "thank you." I also know a VP who has made such good friends with his doorman, yes, his doorman, that he invites the guy up for beers. Class is not "ahmbiannce" but it's not based on pretense either. One thing I have to say though, when I work events with a lot of high powered people - like CEO's of fortune 500 companies, etc.....it's not really the MEN who are the problem. For the most part, many of them look you in the eye, smile, greet you, acknowledge you as a person and say thank you when you assist them with something. Their wives...on the other hand. They come in their jewels and shoes that cost more than my rent and if you ask for their name, they get all haughty, "don't you know who I am?" type of way. They act entitled, rude, snobby...I kid you not, I had one wife come up to me and ask, "when will our helicopter be coming?" To go like 4 miles. The lady really thought I was going to call her a helicopter. I know Luann said the Count would flip out if she wasn't addressed properly, but I just wonder if she cares more than he does. However, the daughter did mention once that her dad was kind of old-fashioned (didn't want her hanging out a deli.....is the "in" spot for kids really a deli....?), so maybe he does care. But in my experience (on the "service" side, not a member of the lucky sperm club), the women are the ones who insist on being treated like royalty, where many of the husbands just seem like regular guys and almost look at me apologetically for their wives requests. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Alovera, Yes, women do act more snooty then men. I wonder if that is why the Alex and Simon thing bother us all so much. He just seems so much like a woman, you know that look at me thing, how wonderful am I and all that. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I finally saw the latest episode of this show, and I think that Ramona and her girlfriend should tape themselves dancing (like Elaine did on Seinfeld), and then watch it. I'm pretty sure neither of them reallizes just how foolish they look. They need to watch it, and then put themselves in check! Pitiful! The only thing missing was the "white man's overbite"! ![]()

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City At least if 'lil Johan ends up working as a limo driver, he'll know how to "properly" address the people he's hired to chauffeur around ! Based on the preview for next week, it looks like they bring in some kind of expert to evaluate Francois' intellect. Should be interesting. The thing I don't get about this couple, above all else, is WHY they're letting the film crew into their house when it's so obviously in need of work? Doesn't that basically blow their entire cover and expose them as way below their peers in terms of lifestyle? Even Bethenny said the other women would've been horrified to see how those two are living. I don't really care about their home--mine is certainly no mansion although at least the flooring is intact and there's no water damage present--but it seems really odd that they are so concerned with how they look and dress and yet they can't even be bothered to fix broken doors or sweep up the floor? Very strange. Also, I do believe one of the adult guests at that birthday party was drinking a COORS from a CAN while standing in the backyard!! Sounds like MY kind of party, but I wonder what the 'ol Count and his wife would've thought about that? ![]() |

Okay, the real "exec" I've been talking to is my husband. I am one of "those wives" to which you refer. I do not act like what you describe, although I see it ALL THE TIME! My husband is the strong, silent type. I, on the other hand, am all about having fun, laughing, playing and everyone is invited. On too many occarions to count, I have been pulled aside and "thanked" for being so nice and approachable and not at all like an "executive's wife". On one occasion, I was visiting one of the places under my hub's leadership. I sat there and watched all the employees cleaning fractically and stressing out, so I asked "What's up? Why are you guys running around like crazy people?" The employee looked at me (in my jeans, pony tail and non-descript clothing) and said "The Big Bosses' Wife is coming in tonight with some of her friends and blah blah blah..." I laughed, told him not to get freaked out, who cares what a snotty wife thinks anyway....He was all confused...Then I said, I'm so and so....He freaked. I had been sitting there joking and goofing with the employees for half hour. I told them they all needed a break after working so hard and to go out back and have a smoke or something. That's why I smiled so much about the VP that says "thank you sir" to the mail man. My husband is higher than a VP and he treats EVERYONE with dignity and respect. He has built the most loyal base of employees I've ever witnessed. Oh, and even though he is a big cheese, he KNOWS he is "just a hired hand" and he always says "You're only as good as your last P&L." (profit and loss statement) People don't quit their jobs, they quit their boss. Back to our regulary scheduled snarking... Fenian, you slay me. I get all happy when I see your avatar and can't wait to read!! ChocLoc at the Gogol reference. Madman certainly applies! There's also so much Chekhovian style whining. Ramona could be a really, really bad version of Masha from The Seagull or The Three Sisters. Avery as Irina, LuAss as Olga and maye Jill as Masha and make Ramona Natasha. Yes, she's ugly and mean enough to be Natasha. One clue Ramona et al. could get from Madman is "silence". LOL.

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Darn Jesper you beat me to it. Fenian is hilarious! I think that he/she deserves their own reality show talking about the others. Fenian!!! Are you really Kathy Griffin? |

Ok, do we think Ramona is on something? Or is just a total spaz? Her behavior at times is so "off." Also, the way she talks grates....she emphasizes words in weird places and besides the fact that she can't speak....she stammers a lot...and doesn't know the right words to use.....chronical, ambiance....but her infliction so bugs me. Also, I notice that when Ramona is talking with the other um, ladies, it's like she is desperately trying to remember what the producers want her to talk about with them and she gets all flustered and rambling. This was very evident in the scene at the Alice & Oliva window show….RAMONA asked the models how old they were, then a few minutes later is standing in front of one of the windows with Luann and all stammering and hyper goes something like, "well uh luann, speaking of uh, remember you were asking how old the models are, well Avery's going to be doing some work…blah blah." Except Luann wasn't the one who asked that, and Ramona is so bad at just sounding natural. Plus her voice….ugh. In her attempts to sound cool, even the way she talks is trying to hard…."so luann, we have to CATCH UP" and at the cooking party when luann asked where jill was….Ramona was all, "uh, well we're supposed to play tennis…if we can fit it in, between all the PARTIES" - oh it's so pathetic I cringe just watching her. | |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I don't know about you guys but I'm curious if the Count was Countess(less) when he hooked up with Luanne. Just wondering if she was "classy" enough not to date a married man. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Ramona may have ADADD and could take meds for it and then not take them so she can drink. Her brain seems to be wired like a person with ADD.
