Actually, this strikes me as condescending and patronizing on the part of your VP. And when it's used for someone "higher up," it's obsequious.
He's a great guy, he said it in such a friendly, warm, upbeat way. I agree though it could be used condescending if that was in the intention.

Alovera, I'm sure the Countass (oops, did I spell that right?) could learn something from your VP, he sounds like a decent person. I have seen people who would not have acted that nice to people they consider "below" them. It really makes me ill to think that anyone thinks they are better or more important than anyone else. And wasn't Luann the one who was trying to define the word class?

I'm in agreement with with Aloevera and Kao. The VP sounds like a kind person who is confident enough about his own status that he can treat everyone with respect without feeling threatened.

I've known a number of people like this who are at the top of the food chain yet manage to maintain their approachability by treating those who rank below them with kindness and respect. It never made me question their authority, if anything, it made me loyal to them.

I Have It My Way

Countess de Looselips: I'm not as impressed with the Countess as much as she's impressed with herself. Honey, you looked like an idiot hanging with your cousin or niece or whatever she was. I'll have you know I hobnob with royalty every day (I dine at Burger King) and I’m not stuck up. They're very nice and allow me to have it my way. I even get to wear a crown. Just because the sugar daddy (often photographed in a Nehru jacket) she latched on to happened to have a goofy, meaningless title doesn't mean squat. Sorry for the vulgarism. I don't use such language around my titled friends.

Simon: He’s the walking definition of tool. I bet if you scraped around their under-construction home, you'd find a lot of linens pilfered from his hotel. They’ll get their floors done when the hotel has similar construction and he can get the contractor to give him a kickback by doing his house for free. When he and his straw-haired wife use a room to prepare themselves for a society fête, do they leave a tip for the poor lackey who has to clean it up? I doubt it. And those tax-deductible $10K opera tickets … were they purchased out of a corporate account?

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

I just watched this weeks episode. What a bunch of lulus. Bethenny was supposed to tell Alex that the party was a girl's night. Period. If I had been invited to a girl's night and simple Simon showed up I'd be pissed. However, I would not have made the scene Ramona did. Frankly, I would have had someone call me to get out of there.

Luann, for Christ sake countess, do you realize that you are Countess de Lesseps #4? No one is impressed by your title. Good etiquette required that you said nothing to Bethenny. It would have also been far classier if you shook the driver's hand when it was offered to you. Get over yourself. I wonder if all the former wives of Count de Lesseps can still be called
countess? Both you and your count need to spend more time with your kids.

Bethenny, if you have a therapist, does he or she know that you are depressed and use alcohol to medicate yourself? Why would you want this guy? From what I've seen he is ice cold. You need prozac.

Alex and Simon WTF??? You are both full of **it. Your home is a disgrace. I bet the place is loaded with lead paint. Get off your asses and do some work on the place. I've sanded floors, painted, etc., to make my homes a decent place. Little Frankie does not want to speak French. You both have a seriously warped sense of what is important.

Ramona try and pausing before you speak, and please CALM DOWN!

Jill I love you. You are the only classy person on this show. Find a better crowd to be friends with these people are not of your class

Bug-Eyed Ramona

At the all-girl party, Ramona acted like Simon came in and humped her leg. Though he’s a tool, he’s a somewhat mannered tool and no longer humps legs or drinks from the toilet ... I think.

She said, “Class is how you greet someone.” However, in greeting Simon, she didn’t turn to face him and gave him her left paw in an awkward manner and acted like she had put her hand in the Fry-o-lator. Yeah, you’re right, Ramona, about class (even though you were defining etiquette) and you ain’t got none.

She’s offended by the presence of what passes as a poor excuse for a man, yet goes out and dances like the over-the-hill hoochey mama she is. Her dress was so short Bravo had to photograph her from the waist up whenever she jumped so as not to show her crucifix-adorned dainties which are part of her “Jesus Loves My Ass” product line.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

Is it just me, or is it weird that Simon is doing interviews/commentary like the wives? I watched a rerun today and his commentary about the opera just stuck out like a sore thumb. Bobby, Mario, and The Count aren't doing these. Anyone have an idea about this???

Well said! I could not agree more.

Gosh!!! love the images of Ramona. If she hadn't married Mario, I can see her working in a diner, chewing gum and spitting on people while she asks, "Do you want fries with that?"
Yet I wonder: What's wrong with Mario to have married her?

You actually made me laugh out loud!!! Thanks!
Of course I don't know if the diner would have her out front with that rash of hers, it might not fit in with the Health Dept. codes either.
