I am loving this show for the snark value. Alex - a brush. get one. Oh and a new husband. Get one of those too.....and some new furniture...ok, well you get the idea. LuAnn - you seem cool....can you please get Noel into some, oh i don't know, SPORTS? Cello and breakdancing and whatever you said about how he could get into theater and dance? Next thing you know he'll be picking out your clothes and hanging out with Simon....your daughter is gorgeous. Great, just what this city needs, another rich, pretty, spoiled girl. Jill - you're growing on me. You are like every rich middle aged Long Island woman I know.....but for some reason a lot cooler and more down to earth. And you don't look fake either, so good for you. Ramona.....oy. Something about the way she talks, just her infliction alone drives me nuts. She is outgoing, yet always seems like she feels insecure, awkward and trying way too hard. Bethenny - I feel like I need xanax just listening to you. You are quite highstrung. But, funny as hell. I heart you. | |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Does anyone know what kind of purse Bethennys friend had when they were talking by the river when Simon called to invite her to the party? It was super cute, big but really nice. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Hi, just found this sight and am really enjoying it. Bethenny - Do you wonder if she ever thinks past the baby stage? They grow up. They talk back. They are a ton of work etc. I think she is just so stuck on the "idea" of having a baby that she can't see to what lies beyond. Ramona - Ugh! It's all been said. Yes, her bulging eyes are really getting to me. Did she have any eye-lift gone wrong? I do like that she stresses to Avery the need to be self supporting. I think it was also good to check out Mario's business, but Avery might want to check into it further. I believe their is some Chinese sweatshop involvement in the manufacture of their "religious goods". All you have to do is google his name to find the sight. Those upper East side lifestyles don't come cheap. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City She appears to have enough friends who have children - and would be familiar enough of the realities of parenthood from Jason's kids - that I think she fully grasps what it all means.

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Yes, she may have friends with children, but those children have other people who care for them. They go home at night, she doesn't have to clean up their various bodily (and other) messes. When the Countess was talking about the lice, Bethenny admitted she has trouble when someone gets sick. Children do that, and they may do it all over your fabulous Birkin. That said, I do think she has the personality that could learn to adapt. |

You raised the question as to whether or not Bethenny understands what parenthood is all about. I gave my reasons why I think she does. Everyone may not agree, and since none of us know her, none of us really know the truth. But I personally don't see the signs in Bethenny that she's one of those women (a la Britney Spears) who sees motherhood as grown up playing with dolls. I think that she understands what is involved, and wants that in her life. Lets be fair here -- the "I want a baby" talk we hear from Bethenny is fairly commom for a lot of women in her place in life. Even with younger women who decide to have kids, you rarely hear them gushing at baby showers about how they can't want until they have to clean vomit off of a newly carpeted floor, or live contentedly in a shirt that has been spit up on for the seventh time of the day, or be screamed at and told you're hated by a 13 year old. Nor do you hear women at bridal showers gushing about how they can't wait to get to the point in marriage where they feel like they don't know their husband anymore, or have to face his wanting desparately to move to Denver while you want so much to stay near your family in Buffalo, or try to figure out how to get the bills paid when he's been out of work for three months. All of these things can be the realities of life in things that are highly desired by many people. But when you're making idle chit chat with friends (or even when you're making the major decisions to do such things) you tend to focus on the fun aspects -- not the negative aspects that are also a reality.

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Watching Simon and Alex on the boat makes me feel like they are putting on an act for the sake of the show. Like they were slated to play the "deeply in love, inseperable couple." First off, when they pulled Bethenny aside - that was so scripted and incredibly awkward. They pulled her aside b/c they are so concerned, yet they both looked bored to tears and you could not find any concern on their faces - plus they hardly ever said a word, except when Simon made the comment about the Jaguar. In contrast, when Jill was at her apartment, she was telling it like it is, and she really got it right. You could also tell she actually cared about what Bethenny was doing. Simon and Alex have already shown they care mostly about connections and just being together all the time, so I just can't buy in at this point that they really care about Bethenny's latest crisis. The other thing that was so fake was the whole "after party" on the boat and the two of them floating around. Alex gives off a vibe much like Katie Holmes. Always babbling on about how lucky she is and how in love, etc., but yet it comes off as very insincere and scripted. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Great comparison! Alex and Simon may just be the one couple out there who look at Tom and Katie and say "Yes, that's what i want to be" rather than "Are they CRAZY?" That's nice really. At least Tom and Katie now know they're putting on the show for someone.

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Ok, I'm sorry, but my mind is in the gutter today, so forgive me. I was thinking about the day that Alex and Simon went shopping, he seemed to like a lot of animal prints. So when he said he needed a stiff drink, was it Alex turning him on or the animal prints that were getting to him? He is from Australia where wild animals are plentiful...soooooooooooooooo? |
