Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

Kelly DimSomeOne is living in the bozone layer that surrounds stupid people and prevents the light of intelligence from entering. No chance of that layer breaking down anytime soon.

Since you quoted me...the evil part came from the Sleeping Beauty lady. Do I really think she is evil .... no that would require some sort of intelligence which I don't think she possesses. She is outclassed and outsmarted at almost every turn. Putting her fingers in her ears and such [b]is[b]more like a 5 year old than a supposedly savvy New Yorker and adult. I never thought you were defending her just posting your opinion like everyone else on here does.

Well, since I'm the "Sleeping Beauty lady" I guess I've got some splainin' to do. . . Okay, "evil" may have been a wee bit too strong, I admit, however, I thought of the analogy of the Sleeping Beauty's fairy stepmother because, just like Kelly, when she wasn't invited to the birthday party for the princess, she reacted like a 5 year old, got mad and all huffy, and devised a way to make them sorry they didn't invite her. Well, that to me was the epitome of Kelly --- perhaps Kelly isn't bad enough to be described as being evil, but she is pretty horrible. Her scene with Bethanny in the bar was vicious (and it was all on her -- Bethanny may have interrupted her spew of venom with some challenging questions, but she never once raised her voice or said anything inappropriate); and then for days after Kelly's rant, she gave a twisted version of the event to everyone she could get to listen to her, including poor old Max, who clearly couldn't have cared less, and even Luann who didn't believe it or really want to hear about it. I agree with you AngloAm, Kelly may not be technically evil, but she is all of those things you said, plus, I think that she is mean-spirited, totally self-involved and apparently insensitive to everyone else --- she even made her little daughters put on heavy sweaters over their shirts on a hot summer afternoon because it completed their outfits! In addition to being haughty to whomever she thinks is beneath her, there have been so many unpleasant things she's done, like: in her publication, she tried to falsely claim that she introduced Ramona to the fashion world, she allegedly stole the design from someone's jewelry collection and claimed it was her own, she alledgedly claimed Max was her boyfriend on the show to make it look like she had a gorgeous boyfriend, she allegedly attacked and beat up another one of her boyfriends, etc. etc. --- so maybe she's not technically evil, but she certainly seems to be a very undesirable person in many ways that the PTB have let us see, and probably in many more ways than we haven't seen.

Good 'splanation, Imperfect1. I hope KHelly DimSomeOne is on the next NY season. Just love how dimwit she is & how she thinks viewers just love her. I do think of her as living in the bozone layer.

Yeah, I don't think she's malicious. I don't think she gets flustered though, I think she's just plain dumb. Also, I think she has entirely lost touch with reality, and her ego is enormous.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

Imperfect1....apologies to you and some 'splainin of my own.
I didn't mean you personally were the Sleeping Beauty lady....I meant in the story of Sleeping Beauty. I should have used a better phrase or made it more clear. I agree with your post and I knew you didn't mean she was "evil" like Hannibal Lector or something. Sometimes my sense of humor gets the better of me....sarcastic and dry.

Kelly really doesn't bother me but I question Bravo for casting her. Aside from her feud with Bethenny, there really is nothing interesting about her.

1) We agree that Max is amazingly handsome and I have to say that whenever I chat with him he's down to earth and charming. A really great guy and I wish his career here in the US well.

2) I forgot about her beating up her boyfriend. That does take 'social awkwardness' to a new level. A misdemeanour level.

There's nothing really interesting about any of these women aside from the fact that they think they're fascinating enough to be on a TV show about themselves. I'm a New Yorker and I think these women are absolutely unlikeable - although I get a kick out of Ramona. I think she's ditzy at times and her mouth works faster than her yellow-warning light but I think she's made her own success financially and she has a lovely family. And by the way, if you've seen any recent photos, she got a much MUCH better haircut (shoulder-length slightly layered blunt cut).

I think Ramona's really mean. I think she uses the whole "I don't think before I speak" thing as an excuse to hurt people again and again.
