Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

Wow, these women better watch how much money they demand since they're not as in demand as they seem to think they are.

Reality series recruiting more NYC "Housewives" - Yahoo! News

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York City" has been picked up for a third season but might feature a new group of Manhattan socialites.

Announcing that the reality series will return in 2010, Bravo said it is "casting for additional housewives" amid reports about a salary dispute between the cable network and the six cast members: Alex McCord, Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, LuAnn de Lesseps and Ramona Singer.

A source said negotiations between the stars and Bravo are ongoing. Production on the third season of the show is slated to begin in the fall.

The second season of "NYC," which chronicles the lives of a group of ambitious women as they juggle careers, motherhood and social calendars, was up double digits in the ratings. It averaged 1.44 million adults 18-49 and 1.95 million total viewers, with both the season finale and reunion special drawing more than 2 million viewers.

Although that's in line with the performance of the original series in the "Real Housewives" franchise, the Orange County version, it is well below the 3.5 million viewers that the New Jersey edition recently drew for its season finale. A second-season renewal for that series is pending.

-----------------
It seems like the NY wives are doing what the OC wives did regarding asking for more money.

Funny, how the NJ wives' finale blew both OC and NY finales out of the water!
I was really surprised at how well NJ did. I honestly thought it would be one of the lowest rated housewife shows. Still, I can't tell if its popularity is because of the show itself - or if it came about on the heels of NYC's success which got huge media attention.

Regardless, I'm very curious to see how casting will go for Season 3 of NYC.

Jill's and Bethany's all-about-me behavior rubbed me the wrong way toward the end of season 2. I don't like them the way I used to, and I'm not so sure I'd want to watch them another season. I'm sure they are leading the charge for more money.

Kudos to Bravo for the Houswife franchise. Truth is stranger than fiction; Hollywood couldn't conceive of better casts or scripts than what the people on these shows do naturally.

Nobody in his family really likes him; he's even more distant than LaContessa from her great heights; at least you can look up and see her in the clouds; he's just a cypher, a nebulous cloud which says little and merely dispenses l'argent and la noblesse, silently, unconcernedly, before blowing over to Africa to renact GGGdaddy's colonial fantasies of dusky divas.
WOW! You go girl!!! I don't care for Luann all that much, but in this case, I completely agree with you. The Count really treated her shamefully -- and didn't do his own image any good either!

I've read that Kelly is the only one who's already signed on for the next season, and Alex is inclined to sign on again. I expect no less of either - Kelly because it's "fun stuff to do," and Alex because she's nothing nowhere without this show.

As to the above quote, although I know it's bad etiquette to correct someone publicly, I'm certain you meant "Kadooz," not "Kudos."

No they meant kudos. Kudos - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is kadooz even a word? I don't think it is.

No, I"m sure it isn't a word except in Ramario land. That's what she said about their charity event. Once again, she was clueless(as well as classless).
Also, the NYPost article about them re-signing says that Jill and Ramario are the two that are the holdouts. They think without them there won't be a show.
The count vehemently denied that he was trying to get back with the "countless." He said something about them remaining friends for the sake of the kids as well as remaining friends with the Princess he left her for. Maybe he will just send her a nice e-mail again informing her of his decision. What a piece of work!!!

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

This is just more strangeness on Jill's part.....

Curbed: On the Market: A Real Housewife's East Side Crib

She's got her condo on the market for $3.2M. Click on the link above to see the floorplans, some pics, and also why she says she is putting it on the market.

Note in some of the comments, someone says that Zarin Fabrics is also up for rent. Hmmm....

Yikes. That's a lot of money. I wonder what the square footage is - I didn't attempt to do the math.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

From that link....

Page Six reports that the 3BR, 3.5BA "famously over-decorated" condo has hit the market for $3.2 million, or just over $1,600 per square foot. This may seem like a curious time to list a multi-million-dollar apartment, but maybe Zarin realizes that while the market is low, her fame is at an all-time high. "Reality Housewife's elegant home hits the market," the not-so-subtle listing begins, before plugging the family's LES shop Zarin Fabrics in the next sentence. The apartment is on the 30th floor of Bridge Tower Place at 401 East 60th Street, right near the Queensborough Bride. There's a lot of competition in the building, but once buyers check out the absolutely staggering before-and-after photo essay in Traditional Home, how will they resist?

Should be noted in another link to Bobby's shop, that it is going for $80/sq.ft!

ETA: I always thought Jill especially referred to herself living on the UES, yet here they are saying this is LES. I know my sister used to live on the LES, near Stuytown, so I don't really know where the boundaries are. I just thought Jill would say UES as if it was more glamorous than the LES.

Darn! I really wanted to see that smug Eurotrash kicked to the curb. I loathe adulterers.
