Dear Christopher : You are absolutely correct, there is not bloodline to her from nobility , and the connection as feeble as it is remarkably is amusingly unimportant not to mention meaningless LOL

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Glad all of your keen eyes caught the lovely trappings of the Cobble Hillbillies. I figured they filmed the scene in the bedroom because it was the nicest of the rooms. Wouldn't you all film in your best room? The wire hanger was a personal favorite. Pugmum, I must've missed something on her acting resume; I don't know what would bring in royalty checks. But I'm sure she likes the idea of getting "royalties". Love the theater investigators. Ha. No opera and she gave the wrong theater. Heh, heh. I love me some dumb liars.

And another thing, why would they have a futon, and a ratty looking one at that? I know having small kids wrecks your furniture, but a futon for such a "power couple"? ![]()

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I couldn't take my eyes off the wire hanger or the tie. Yep, pretty classy if you ask me. I guess a girl can only dream of being so high classed! |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I have never lived in Europe, so perhaps anyone who has can give more insight to this than I can, but from travelling, conversations with a friend of mine who lives in Germany, and exposure from pop culture, I've always been of the impression that Europeans don't put as much emphasis on decorating and home furnishings as Americans do. Is that the case? If so, it could explain some of the plainness of Alex and Simon's home. Again, Irecognize it was a fictional account, but even in the movie The Queen I remember being struck at how boring and plain Tony Blair's house was protrayed as being. (his family's private home - not 10 Downing Street). If they are trying to subscribe to that "we're so much cooler than most New Yorkers -- we're far more European" mindset, it would make sense that they'd take such an approach to decorating. Additionally, they come across as a couple who are constantly trying to network -- not build friendships. So it would stand to reason that they don't entertain at home very often -- they're always out on the prowl for impressive people they need to latch on to. So if they've got limited financial resources compared to the lifestyle they're trying to project, then they'd use those funds on things that people would notice - clothing and entertainment - instead of a home that no one would ever see.
