It's kind of a cool hotel, but the service sucks. We asked for a 6:30 wake up call and got a wake up call at 5 something in the AM, and then kept getting them every 5 minutes after that. We called the front desk several times to ask them to stop calling before the calls finally stopped coming. Then we were going to have room service breakfast at 7, and had ordered it in the night before and told them we needed it no later than 7 (my husband is taking the bar exam and had to leave at 7:15 to get there in time) and a little after 7 we called to make sure they didn't forget, and they did. They told us for 20 minutes that our breakfast was 'on the way up' but it didn't get there until after my hubby left (poor guy had to grab snack mix out of the honor bar and take his exam on an empty stomach!). My hubby was pizzed off and doesn't ever want to stay there again.
Oh, and when the breakfast finally came? It wasn't what we had ordered.

So much for the Chambers Hotel...

There's a site where people comment on the Chambers Hotels, and the biggest complaint was the service. They said the staff was ineffecient, rude and just downright mediocre. All the same problems you mention. The only good thing talked about re: the New York Chambers was it's location, just around the corner for the best shops. Not somthing Simon could control. (However, the dirty bathrooms are something he can control, lol)

That's interesting. The service was really poor, especially when you consider what they charge for a room. The staff I dealt with wasn't rude but was just really, really clueless and inept.

Ahh, Simon. I hate to admit this, but...I actually *miss* laughing at Simon. Remember his trip to St Bart(h)'s and his running in a speedo? LOL, that was so funny! (disturbing but hilarious). He's so beyond real he's almost like a Saturday Night Live character or a cartoon.
