| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City OK, I have a 'duh" question for Beezers, who is that in your avatar? And Aranea, ITA but Mandarin and Cantonese are widely used in California (especially the Bay Area) as is Spanish.....so you're correct in that it may geographically isolated but with the many Chinese immigrating to the US, Mandarin will soon be a very common language you will hear. Someone mentioned Japanese would be a good language to know......maybe 20 years ago but not so much now. I admit French is much more convenient in Europe but how often are Alex and Simon and their offspring traveling in Europe? They mentioned that their kids passports were filled before they were 2 years old, but now that they have to pay for their seats on the plane, I bet they wont be traveling with their brood very often. |

The part that gets to me, is at least you can look at a Picasso more than once, poor Alex was complaining that her dresses are only good for one outing. I guess it is off to E-bay now to see if someone else wants to look as stylish as her.

About whole language pandora's box I seemed to have opened, my only intent was to say that living in the U.S. Frankie and Johny would be better off learning Spanish. When they grow up and can make their own decisions to be a Political Ambassador or U.N. Translator then they can choose the language of their own interest, not that of their pretentious-by-pseudo-wealth parents. Quote:

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City Thanks Beezers, I have to admit before I realized you were female, I thought it was a photo of you! So now you know, I dont watch Lost. My husband LOVES Lost......I agree on the Spanish thing, my daughter is fluent in French but doesnt speak much of it here in the US, she will be traveling to Europe this summer and it will come in handy. My other child studies Spanish so it will be interesting to see how it pans out for the two of them as adults. One is bilingual/bi-literate in French and the other in Spanish. As far as Alex only wearing the dress once, don't forget Simon gets his turn, too! |

![]() As for the Spanish and French, I think it is good to learn stuff while we are snarking. I'm learning a lot, but most of all I have learned important things, like girl get-together are sexist and things like even the 4th wife is considered a Countess! ![]()

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City If you know Spanish, you can limp along in Italian. Spanish is now much more common than French in Louisiana. There is no point to teaching Latin. Short sentences today for me.... lol |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City I've learned that ... French is a very important language and it is possible to drink a lot of skinny drinks and still be a career gal. As long as there skinny. And that alcohol is part of a holistic health regimen. Arthritis is helped by a liquid diet. You can never be too independent, especially if your husband is loaded. Class is ambience. |

| Re: The Real Housewives of New York City The wait is KILLING me!!! To top things off, I worked yesterday so I started off the day thinking it was Tuesday!!! Anyway, this reunion show looks soooooo good! The only thing I'm worried about is, Bravo being Bravo and famous for editing things together that are totally unrelated, that these clips that are making us so anxious really aren't what they appear to be! The girl that gets up and leaves, I can't tell if it's Ramona or Alex. Anyone?? |
