Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

I finally broke down and had to make a comment. The post about Alex and Simon being harmless, and that Alex isn't a bad-looking woman, were more that I could stomach.

Harmless?? You bet. I'm sure that their kids' peers will be nothing but supportive and understanding about those slutty porn poses that abound on the internet. This will impact those kids sooner than you might think. As for the twisted, vacuous, status-obssessed priorities and warped value system that they are imposing on the kids, God help them.

As for looks, Alex is uglier than a bowling shoe!! Simon, if possible, is even more repellant. The mere sight of them activates my gag reflex.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

My son could read at two, however before you all start rolling your eyes,I did really nothing out of the ordinary when he was small to encourage him. I just read to him. He was'nt bribed with jelly beans or made to jump through hoops to please Mommy and Daddy.Gifted children just are. It is not a reflection on the parents pro or con. Maybe genetics maybe not. Now my final rant about Alex and Simon. Any woman that needs that kind of adoration from a man is pitiful, his cloying clingy sickening creepy "affection"just makes my skin crawl. She, being totally self involved needs this constant ego inflation from this tool. The tool is a sleazy perverse control freak. There is abuse in this family and he really scares me. The apartment and the hungry kids tell me all I need to know about them. Just as their trips and clothes etc. are to impress others so is there "affection" for their children. I hope someone intervenes before it's oo late.

It's true, you can't force a child to be gifted. I think it would be a lot more impressive if Alex and Slime-on taught Francois impeccable manners and good behavior.

I hear that huge bags under the eyes are a sign of genius! I have also heard that violence towards hamburgers is a sign of genius! Didn't Einstein have problems, as a child, behaving himself in restaurants? I'm sure that Stephen Hawking's parents attributed his genius to being allowed to play with other people's food! All things that most of us wouldn't allow, for our non-genius kids, but Alex and Si have a real one so I'm sure that they know how to handle the situation.
Thank you so much for my first laugh of the day.

I hear Fransmooshie did start watching the Baby Einstein collection at only 2 weeks old. Of course by 2 months, he had moved on to more genius appropriate programming, performed in 36 languages.

It is the same home in which he was reared as a prodigy, and he couldn't possibly live in the suburbs! Our scene opens as Francois escorts his wife into a trendy French bistro for breakfast. His wife’s name is not important. This vignette is all about Francois, whose pockets are stuffed with jelly beans, a staple in his diet since he began eating solid food. Francois’ wife wonders why he brought her here. After all, his parents, Alex and Simon have told her that Francois speaks French ever since she began dating him, but to her wonderment, she has never heard him utter a single syllable of French. As the waiter approaches to take their drink orders, Francois looks up and says, at long last, the phrase his parents have drubbed into him since he was 4, “Limonade, s’il vous plait.” At which point, Francois’ wife leaps to her feet, grabs his arm and declares, “’Cois, you spoke French!” As she begins kissing his outstretched arm, reminiscent of Gomez and Morticia Addams, Francois pops four jelly beans into his mouth and turns to the Style section of the “Times” to see what his mother wore to the Met last night. A Sunday just like any other...
Giana, have I told you lately that you crack me up?

I hate to try and add to your perfect story, but where is Johnny? Is he waiting outside behind the wheel of a cab for his big bro and his sister-in-law? And has the sister-in-law posed nude??? or has she not had children yet and is putting it off until then?

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

Look up The Chambers Hotel on google and visit it's site, it's a hoot. It is a 70 room boutique, nicely designed (lobby) but rooms are dirty and worn (customers comments.) Rates are $350-700 a night. Good location (56th and fifth avenues (great shopping) Biggest complaint of customers was the staff which was rude, inept and generally uncooperative and poorly trained. Biggest plus was the location. Most people complained that it wasn't worth the price. Try as I might, I couldn't find any info on the "Manager". They have one other Chambers Hotel in this vast chain located in Minneapolis.

Re: The Real Housewives of New York City

I love this show, and I love the NY wives as much as I do the CA wives. There is just something about them that I admire - despite being disappointed in them on so many issues. I think it is their strength and drive. These women aren't slackers. They work hard (except possibly the Countess). And even while they quite often suck at it, they seem to try to be good parents.

I have no problem with Alex and her husband. They are living their life in their own little bubble, and hey, good for them! My only issue is the parenting. Like many parents nowadays, they are obviously failing at discipline and boundaries. Bethany put it best - learning to not stab hamburgers of your friend's boyfriend is far more practical than learning how to say words in French. Good thing Alex brought him to a specialist. I'm sure he'll say something along those lines, and they really need to hear it from an expert to believe it.

Toast to Bethany, by the way. I think I have a new favorite.

All well and good, if Alex had taken him to an "expert." That guy was merely testing Frahnswaaah's rather normal IQ. He seemed rather amused by the lack of boundaries displayed, too, but he offerred no suggestions. Just seemed rather glad to show them to the door.

Yeah, and here's another example of Alex's parroting Simon - when Ramona is yelling at Simon for ruining the 'girls night out' dinner party, Ramona asks Alex, "What? Aren't you ever allowed a girls night out?" and Alex just stops, looks at Simon, and Simon says, "She's allowed whatever she likes" and then Alex repeats, slowly, "I'm allowed whatever I like"...

As creepy as Simon is, Alex creeps me out even more. She's like a Stepford Wife reject.

Wow! Good observation. That is a creepy parroting response.

Why do we never see Alex on the job...or at least near her job?
