She is not terribly over weight, but just added to all of her other negative characteristics, it was just one more negative thing to tell me why would any man really want to be with her? I don't think its natural or healthy for women to think that they need to eat a single banana a day and be rail skinny, like the run-way models. A little weight is typically not a problem in most situations. And what is up with that hair? With the way she degrades other girls about their looks, and she has this weird bangs hairdoo? What's the deal with that? I just think if you are going to be hyper critical of others looks like she is, you need to have yours in place. The one saving grace I can find about her is she does typically dress nice, I do like the short skirts and heels that she typically wears. And I agree with the comment about the weird looking staff, although that one guy seems fairly nice, the mohawk with multiple piercings and tats are OK IMO for a rock musician, but not really for someone working in a professional office situation.
A woman's weight should not be used to judge her in ANY situation, especially since any statement about her being "overweight" is carrying things a little too far. She's not skinny, but she's not fat, either. Five or even 10 pounds beyond skinniness is certainly not fat! Her weight looks quite average for her height to me. Any man who would not want to be with a woman because she's 5-10 pounds over the skinny look would definitely not be a man worth having, anyway. Her personality traits are a lot more off-putting, but there's no need to toss in the fact that she's not skinny as an undesirable trait, too. Men like that are very superficial. Wow, lucky for her that her looks are somewhat redeemed by the short skirts and heels!

    Re: Millionaire Matchmaker

Patty made a point last night of knocking the millionaire guy for picking a girl much younger. Luckily, he then picked Patty's friend who was much closer to his age.
Why, then, was it all right to set up the Romance novel model with a much younger guy?
On another note, I was rolling on the floor when Destin was telling Millionaire guy about how he had to dress well. Pot - kettle, kettle - pot.

AMEN Sister! I once dated a guy who told me (after I had gained around 5lbs) that I was too fat now and he did not want to go out with me anymore. Some men are such jerks!! Unfortunately there are more of THOSE kind of men around than real men who know how to judge a woman by her character, integrity and heart rather than soley on her looks. BUT...those men get what they pay for...look at Hollywood with all the actresses who get plastic surgery to have a perfect looking body/face...they usually end up cheated on or divorced...so...having that perfect body doesn't guarantee them anything! Mostly it guarantees them catching a man who is only after their looks and usually ends up cheating on them when the next (what they perceive as) BETTER LOOKING woman comes along. When you go after someone based on looks, most of the time it is very hard to see past that to the real person, you become so mesmerized by their outward appearance. Even the best looking people can turn rather ugly if their personality stinks. AND...Patti is NOT fat...but....her personality is what makes her unattractive.

I'm starting to think that this weight issue needs to be on a new thread. Seriously. This is a thread about a show.

That said, in my opinion this is not a gender issue. Women are as hypercritical about fat men as men are about fat women. And in America, fat is the new norm. We are supersizing everything from the new "fake" clothing sizes to airplane seats. Not to mention coffins.

The current average size of American women is 12-14 (putting our average weight at about 145 lbs. at 5'5").

Patti is in no way fat or overweight. She would be in France, though.

I don't care if Patti is fat, thin or normal. She's horribly uncouth and mean spirited in more ways than I can count.
I wouldn't be surprised if her engagement was fake (as a poster above noted). What normal person, man, woman, animal? would want to live with someone like her?
Try as hard as I can, I can't even imagine her in a setting of having fun, enjoying herself and relaxing. Maybe it is just a personna for TV but there's got to be some element of truth in how she behaves because she does it sooo well.

I've got your back, Patti is indeed fat. Just because she is of "average" weight for an American doesn't mean she looks good. This country has a huge weight problem.

Men will stop judging women by their weight when women stop judging guys by their wallet/height, etc. In other words, neither thing is stopping any time soon.

Don't get me wrong, curves are good. However, fat rolls are not.

I haven't noticed "fat rolls" on Patti, but your point is well taken. Women are every bit as judgmental. If a single man is poor, bald, short, pock marked, or sporting a beer gut/love handles, he is at the bottom of a woman's eligible date list. If he's a combination of 2 or more, he's probably pretty lonely. Especially if he's Patti's age.

    Re: Millionaire Matchmaker

We see this on Patty's show actually. There are occasionally men on there who wouldn't meet the societal standard of beauty but yet stereotypical hot women clamor to meet them. Mostly because they're attached to a large wallet. And Patty puts a lot of emphasis on outward appearances of the people she has at the cattle calls at least on the show.

We all judge our mates based on different criteria. That's just the reality. But I have always had much difficulty with the premise of this show being that the people on it are looking for true love instead of a true love an hour or two through a glorified escort agency.

While I don't find Patti aesthetically pleasing as I tend to find people who look different than her more attractive I don't believe her look is a negative against her. It's just not a look I'm that into. It goes into the great body hair debate. Everyone has a different preference and what they find hot.

Well if you want to totally analyze the show it is 100% superficial, Patti says to hot chicks or guys off the street, "hey I'll hook you up with someone that has tons of $$$$$" at least that is how I understand it. I don't think that she holds any of these peeps out to be just regular poor working class joes and flos? Right? So the cattle calls are full of male or female gold diggers looking for someone with a fat wallet, and who cares how they look as long as that bank account is the right shade of green.
