Jimmy D is Nicole D'Ambrosio's brother. She was on the Apprentice. He's kind of the doofus brother who lucky for him has a piece of the family business. There was nothing staged about him.

As with some other Bravo shows (Workout, Blowout, Queer Eye (for the Straight Guy), Style w/Tim Gunn, Make Me a Supermodel) the producers storyboard the episode and introduce their cast into specific situations. It's probably better to think of it as reality improv.

What I did hear from the person I know in casting is that Patti is very difficult to work with and is exactly as abrupt with the TV production crew as she is with the cast.

I know something of three of the millionaires (Lonnie - Geisha House/Dolce Group), Brett Jacobson (Her energy Drink) and the guy with the house in Malibu overlooking the ocean. All were there for publicity. The latter of the three pays his mortgage by renting out his house for TV and movie productions. "Her" even now has a group on facebook that started right after the CEO's appearance on the show.
    Yes, you did.

Many of Patty's comments are scripted/suggested to her by the producers. The "blacklis" comment, specifically, is one of those. In last week's episode, Cara's "date" with the the promoter from Chicago relied on her ability as an actress. She was cast specifically to play the role of ditzy LA blonde. She is anything but that -- and has been to the Getty museum on more than one occasion. Saying that she had not been there helped define her character.

(I have a niece who works of the show)

Sorry, but "scripted" means that all the dialogue is written by writers.

I chose my words carefully (and remembered them, too) "Many" does not mean all or that there is a script for actors. There is no script for actors, but there is a storyboard and shooting outline. It is the precise description given to me by the casting person who is a family friend, who tells me that it is quite similar to a "talking points" memo for politicians on talk and news interview programs.

I hope that is now more clear (although is was always clear to me.), and I've happily exhausted my entire state of knowledge on this show.

Peacheater, thanks for all of your inside info.

I would like to add that many of the "girls" on MM have been cast by a company called FSA entertainment. On another forum, the posters have been taking turns sorting through the available actresses to find ones who recently appeared on MM including Krista (Alex's date) ,Yvonne (dated the surfer), Kimi, Lauren (the painter's date), and Josie the farmer (who confronts Patti next week.)

Then we'll all take from the show what we wish and I think everyone does that anyway.

Wait, isn't it VH1 that has the whole Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, I Love NY franchise? How can that not win?

I would have to tie VH1 and MTV-MTV does have A Shot At Love (and that godawful spinoff that they did), plus all those dating shows (Room Raiders, Next, and so forth), the RW challenges...and VH1 does have all the "Of Love" shows and their respective spinoffs.

You know I tend to surf over to this show whenever Ace of Cakes is in commercials but what little I have watched, Patti as successful as she may be, comes off like she is pimping these girls out. She tells then how to dress, send them for make-overs, & tells them howshe expects them to act.

Last night I briefly heard her say that if the girls don't measure up at the door she won't allow them in.

This makes these girls look like call-girls masquerading as "wives".

I think she runs an escort service. It's definitely Not a matchmaking service.
