Re: Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky

I feel like this season I don't really know who most of them are. Their names are familiar to me, but most of their backstories aren't. It also seems like this season has more of a revolving door than ever before. People seem to be coming in later and later. How are they ever going to be able to benefit from treatment when they're not really there for most of it.

Re: Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky

I have noticed this season is a much lesser known group. Maybe this has helped Dr Drew decide (I saw yesterday) that he wont be doing another season for a while, if at all.
I have watched bits and pieces of each episode. Why was Bai up on the roof, and did she fall off and get hurt? When Michael was talking about being in jail and pedophiles had pictures of his daughter and wife up, I kinda felt for him. And I may be late to realizing this but what is Steven Adler's deal always picking on a girl, does it make him feel better? I remember in Sober House he was terrible to the "house mother" and now he seems to be going after Amy.

I think Dr. Drew will spin that show for so long as he can get anyone to sign up. Even if they aren't famous, I think he would do a similiar show. I like Dr. Drew, but he does love that camera. LOL

The guy who said the water bottle could turn you bi-sexual, struck me as someone who was paranoid due to the drugs he was ingesting. You start thinking someone is out to get you, is talking about you, is planning something behind your back, etc. That was my take on it. And I agree that he must already have some fear about that happening. It may come out in therapy.

I can't believe that Michael would have gotten in trouble for taking down pictures of his wife and/or daughter, or that they would be allowed to have trash like he described about it in there with pedophiles and sex offenders. I know, I'm very naive I guess but I thought inmates were limited to what they were allowed to have.

Bai Ling just annoys me and that's probably wrong for me to say but I just get the feeling she's acting for the cameras. It's annoying, and with her stunt on the roof she should have been shipped off to mental services somewhere.

Amy is also playing to the cameras, but then most of them are.

As of now, it seems like Dwight Gooden and Sean Young are the ones who are truly committed to the programand willing to do the work. Dwight seems like he'll be the Rodney King of this season--laying low in the background, not great for reality show drama, but he'll probably get the most out of the experience. Everyone else seems like they're there either for the cameras and/or drama.

Stephen clearly has some misogynistic issues--he wasn't abusive to any of the women in his cast or on staff during his previous rehab season, but was awful to Jen in Sober House and now Amy Fisher.

Amy definitely likes to portray herself as a victim, but I do feel for her to a certain degree. I mean, what office is going to hire someone to work for them that was in jail for attempted murder, let alone someone with hernotoriety? Her husband is a cop, but that's not enough to raise a family of three kids with.

That being said, I don't see how she can blame doing porn on her drinking problems because she has to get loaded beforehand. Shooting an adult film only takes a couple of days, and she's only done a handful of them. It's not like she's working on a set daily.

I swear that right out of the gate out of prison Amy was doing porn in some fashion or another be it pictures or movies and she really hasn't done that many scenes. She could have made better choices right out of the gate than to go do that but she didn't. I do think her addiction is wrapped around her various life experiences. And I have some difficulty empathizing with her when she seems at times very fake and very surface. '

I'm frustrated that I keep missing this show and it's not ON DEMAND. I have to remember to set it on DVR. I've only seen one episode, but think I can catch up.

Did anyone see where Rodney King was just arrested for driving under the influence of pot?

Re: Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky

I was most interested in Sugar's story - I watched her in her first season of Survivor and liked her, but heard from her "co-stars" that she was a mess. Then she was voted out first when she came back for an all-star season, which prompted her suicide attempt. Hearing her tell her story and list all the drugs she has done daily for years made me wonder how she managed w/o them on Survivor? I feel sorry for her, and still like her - am hoping for the best for her.

And I couldn't believe that was Amy Fisher. What did she DO to herself? yikes.
Michael Lohan being on the show is a bit of stretch, to me.

Stephen gets on my nerves. He's an abusive jerk. Not to mention he's sitting there yelling at someone saying they don't want help when he's screwed up his own rehabilitation how many times? I swear Dr. Drew's form of therapy resembles the WWF more than any real form of therapy available. It's a freaking free for all. No facility would allow a patient to attack staff/fellow patients the way that they allow on this show. It's disgusting.
