Interesting how Lindsay Lohan wouldn't do the show so they got her dad instead. It never ceases to amaze me how far some of these "celebrity" shows will stretch the definition of 'celebrity"

WOW, what a season this will be. HOLY COW, the medications the BAYWATCH dude is/was on! YIKES, its wonder he is not dead. Amy Fisher looks so different even from the clip they showed of her before all her plastic surgeries (which I am assuming there were many). Michael Lohan, oh bother. Sean Young just finished a season on 'TheYoung&TheRestless' which was not mentioned at all in her 'bio' as they introduced her BUT sheesh I had no idea she was an alcoholic, she was very believed as an evil witch on the show.

I haven't seen the entire episode yet, just part of it. Please explain why the lady who runs Sober House is freaking out that Steven Addler is returning. Is she working at Celeb Rehab clinic now? I thought she ran Sober House. Why would she even need to be at the Rehab Clinic? Is this just for drama? I don't get it.

Who do you think the biggest celebrity they have ever had was? I'm trying to think back to beginning seasons. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking McKenzie Phillips, just because she was really famous as a tv star once and her dad was very famous too. (John Phillips from Momma and Papa's. What do you think?

Others that I consider famous are Daniel Baldwin, Jeff Conaway, Leif Garrett, Janice Dickinson, Jeremy London, Eric Roberts and Sean Young. I still think McKenzie has the most name recognition with the general public.

Was the one baseball player being serious or trying to make a joke when he said that water bottles have been linked to bisexuality?? I'm pretty sure he was serious and if so I wouldn't be surprised if he has some internal issues about his sexuality. I'm not saying he's gay but just the way he said it, if he wasn't trying to be funny, it came off to me as if he was actually afraid the water bottle could make him have bisexual urges. Just found that entire exchange to be very odd.

Either way I can't help but feel what I always do about this show: a few of these people are actually here to get help and get better while some are simply here for camera time and fame. It's frustrating to me because it's hard for me to really decide whether I think Dr. Drew wants the best for his patients.....or if he wants good material for the show. Just rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

Has a stint on this show actually helped any of the "celebrities" addiction issues?
I've seen bits and pieces of various episodes but never followed an entire season.

I know that Rodney King opened up his own sober house but not sure on the others. I think 2-3 of them have died since airing their season due to relapse.

Dr. Drew uses the 12 step approach which has a very low success rate (something like 5%). Statements such as "addiction is a disease" is outdated and based on an outdated concept that is over 50 years old. It's so difficult to watch these people go through their detox and I wonder if it is humane to broadcast it. I realize that they have all signed contracts but I would have to think that the majority of participants were high when signing and have hit rock bottom and very desperate when they signed. I am sure that if they were in their right head, they would not have elected to have their misery broadcast. I have to wonder if Dr Drew and the producers are benefiting by exploiting these so called celebrities?

Best of luck to every single one of them, especially Steven Adler who reminds me of Jeff Conway and we all know how he ended up.

Brigitte Nielsen and Nikki McKibbin have also remained sober since their seasons ended.

Brigitte had a leg up coming to this treatment program however as she had just exited another treatment program and was already sober for some time, already had some treatment on board and appeared to be using this program as a "phase 2" or aftercare program before moving on to the next phase. So she got the entire 28 days worth of treatment since she wasn't high and detoxing on entry from what I remember.

I live in NY and grew up loving the Mets and Dwight Gooden. He is such a sad soul. I hope he forgives himself and finally overcomes his addictions.

What is the deal with Amy Fisher? She says that she is married with children and the only way she can support her family is by doing porn films. What does her husband do? I assume he is the stay at home dad? I feel really bad for her, the way she was crying made me think about how she was just a kid when she shot that woman in the face. She served her time, she did her deed and we all know that JOey Buttafucco is a liar and I think that the public should have just let her go live her life.

I remember that her parents were so supportive during her trial but after a while they both gave up on their marriage and separated because of the situation. It must weigh heavily on Amy that her parents divorced because of her.
