I was surprised there's been no topic for this.
I actually think this might be interesting. It's got human interest up the wazoo, plus Holiday spirit, plus I think it had to have been planned way before the Writer's strike, so it probably wasn't rushed to filming (the non-live parts, I mean--the bulk of the show will apparently be live).
Anyone planning on trying to watch? Four days in a row, several hours a shot, is a lot to commit to, but I plan on at least trying tonight's episode.

Patti LaBelle and her hometown of Philadelphia, PA.
Nick Lachey and his hometown of Cincinnati, OH.
Michael Bolton and his hometown of New Haven, Conn.
Kelly Rowland and her hometown of Houston, Texas
Blake Shelton and his hometown of Oklahoma City OK.
I get the vibe that the show is going not only for a musical contrast, but also a cultural one. I mean I see some serious "white bread" vs. "soul" potential here. Yeah, maybe its politically incorrect to note that, but I'll risk it.
The eliminations are apparently based on phone in voting each night. So yeah, that means that the performances are going to be
