Re: Clash of the Choirs: 12/17- 12/20 on NBC
Commercial: I saw one of those female American Gladiators interviewed on one of the entertainment shows. Her voice literally was in the bass range. I am not kidding. She was this fake Valkyrie character with pigtails. I'm kind of scared of this American Gladiator show now... watching Hulk Hogan might be too much for me.
Back to choirs...
Houston ought to have a bucket load of talent.
Unlike Nick it seems like Kelly decided on some people without the reality show crap move of putting them in stupid groups. She's inviting them straight from the auditions in some cases.
Re: Clash of the Choirs: 12/17- 12/20 on NBC
I'm liking this. 20 people who can sing getting together to win a prize for their hometown charity. No drama over size or shape. Minimal weird auditions. This may be the easiest on the ears music comp on TV.
Re: Clash of the Choirs: 12/17- 12/20 on NBC
I really liked Nick's choir's performance.
I can't generally stand that song, but they were all so energetic and looked to be having such a good time it was fun to watch.
Re: Clash of the Choirs: 12/17- 12/20 on NBC
I think Kelly's emotions got the best of her on that last pick.

I agree. That lady wasn't that good.
But Kelly DOES have the advantage of understanding harmonizing more than these other coaches, I think. I really hadn't thought about her Destiny's Child experience in that way before this, but I think its true.
I mean Patti LaBelle is probably the best singer of the bunch, but Kelly did very little BUT harmonize for years.

I gotta agree with you there.
I have to echo Aceon6 with liking the fact that the competition is for a charity and that there isn't an issue with looks or age.

Patti Labelle also used to be in a group. Nick was also in 98 Degrees but I don't know if they did very much harmonizing.
The person who is most at a disadvantage is Blake Shelton. I read an interview with him and he seemed clueless.
It's really frustrating not having a TV. I miss a lot of great shows. I hope Kelly's choir is amazing! Best of luck to her.

Kelly's choir sounds better than Nick's
Re: Clash of the Choirs: 12/17- 12/20 on NBC
Advantage: Houston
By a LOT. Sorry, Nickettes, but it was night and day. About 20 times better.
I even loved the big guy in the center that was kind of a visual focus. And the lead singers kicked ass.
Geez. While I hate negative judging, this format doesn't allow these celebs to say ANYTHING other than glowing comments without seeming like sourpusses.
Onto Team Bolton.
I wonder if he's embarrassed by those old photos of him with the scary hair. Probably not. He wore it like that for like... a decade.

I thought they were good, too. Much better than Kellys group.
