This show seems light years ahead of ANTM. The winner is going to be in GQ. The winner of the former ends up on Seventeen mag. These models are weighed and made to walk the run way weekly. J. has his one episode and that's it. Jeez!

Yes, this show is truer to its title than ANTM which should be changed to America's Next Covergirl Make-up Model. And about the GQ prize, ANTM first had an Elle photoshoot as a prize before becoming the model pariah maker. And the contestants they have for this show are more modely than the actress-wannabee's (not all of them) joining the other show.

It is smart product placement for Cover Girl. I doubt the contract amounts to much in the long run.

Many of Tyra's models can barely string a sentence together let alone two in a row. You have to be smart, articulate and responsible to even think of a career in modeling.

Holly is beautiful when not smiling but her teeth are a tad bunny rabbit for doing commercials where she will talk and smile. Cute girl but not a super model.

I don't think any of the women hold a candle to Perry, Ronnie and Casey.

Only the shows "they cover", not sure what that means, go in the top section. I hope this will rate a slot there since ANTM pales by comparison. I don't know the criteria for getting a slot of its own. Maybe someone will happen by and explain it.

"Shows they cover" means that there is a staff writer assigned to recap the show weekly. At this point, I doubt they'd start recaping it, but who knows, maybe the popularity of this thread will have them considering coverage of season 2 (if it happens).

I do think that some of the models they have are better than most ANTM contestants (I'm talking about Holly, Shannon, Jackie, all the girls really, save for Katie). Likewise, I do like that they seem more concerned with people's abilities as model, rather than their personalities. Last, but not least, they realize that runway is a HUGE part of being a model, so they spend time teaching these people how to walk. Same can't be said about ANTM.

At the same time, the show's structure pales in comparison, IMO. I hate how the judging is done. I hate how you never really get a good look at their pictures (on tv). I hate how not all of them get critics each week. I'm also not a fan of the people voting, because lets be honest, we all complain about Tyra making stupid decisions, but leaving modeling potential for regular people to decide is just asking for a disaster.

I guess in the end, each shows has its pluses and minuses, but the test will be whether MMASS will be able to actually get a career going for someone. Clearly ANTM has failed at that.
