Re: Design Star

I'm also 5' tall...I'm the one asking people with long arms at the grocery to get down the caffeine free diet pepsi 2-liter bottles from the top shelf. I would truly appreciate NO upper cabinets. The ones in my apartment go up to the ten foot ceiling and I can only reach the first shelf without a step ladder.

I've always rented and always will, but I've also always been a floorplan and design junkie. That is why I love HGTV shows and look forward to Design Star each season. I've printed out my favorite floorplan (Craftsman Showoff - SDC-007) from the website and, since it is a craftsman - my favorite house design - have planned out where I would place the built-ins for the library-study. Way off topic - but it is about dreams...I've always wanted my own washer/dryer. There I said it. LOL

Re: Design Star

Does anyone know if Christopher Lowell is still around? Everytime I see Matt, I think about Christopher.

All are next to the dish washer on both sides. Very easy access. All shelving in the pantry pull out as well. It looks great too with windows all along one side.
I drive my hubby crazy because rather than ask, I do a safety no-no and jump on the counter to reach things (I'm 4-11). But if my son is in the room, I'm a good girl.

I actually commend M for listening and not putting upper cabinets on both sides. I could see him trying to balance it out with some, though, as he didn't have time to do extensive remodeling and be more clever.

I voted for him. I can't forgive painting that beautiful table.

Re: Design Star

I thought we could vote through today, but I don't see the voting thing anymore.

What is with all these people liking red, "merlot," etc? (Hubby saw that "merlot" wall and wanted me to not vote for Matt, but I explained it was the owner's wife's excreble taste and he was just giving her what she wanted.) I am just watching a 2 hr. color special w/ David Bromstead, and the first couple wants a red backsplash in their kitchen. I am so sick of everyone choosing the same barfy color! That is my least favorite color, and the last 4 times I've seen them do a kitchen on that network, guess what color the people want?

Re: Design Star

I just read that bright orange is the accent color to have, currently in style. Eeeeewwwwww!! The only thing I want in an orange is a popcicle or fruit.

He's got a new show starting on one of the cable channels. I forgot which one, but I just saw an ad the other day. I'll bet if you search the Internet you'll find it. It had some unusual focus, but again, I've forgotten what. I'm not much help, am I?

ETA: Oops. I just noticed that someone else already answered and actually gave you some useful info. I thought I had seen all the responses, but I missed that one.

I agree. I told my husband that whoever got to pick first would choose Mikey V for his carpenter skills as carpentry skills are usually most needed the first day. I was surprised and impressed that Matt let Jenn have him.
