| Re: Design Star Team Trish's room was better. Nice to see that Tracee got compliments for the headboards and the wall behind the bar. One thing though, Trish, please stand up straight. She hunches over and it is so annoying. Interesting to note that the teams were both comprised of 2 women and 1 man. At this point I have not seen anything yet that WOWS me. What are these designers waiting for?

| Re: Design Star The episode is only half over here. I'm getting a feeling Stephanie is out. She's taking forever buying stuff and did not measure the doorway in order to see if the sofa would fit through. What a basic skill to forget!

| Re: Design Star One of the teams measured the door to the suite but not the door to the stairwell. which one??? One thing bothered me about that though. Most big buildings have freight elevators that are doubledoored and larger than the regular elevators for the direct purpose of hauling up big items. I think if they had used a freight elevator they would not have had a problem.

| Re: Design Star ^ You're right about the freight elevators. I thought they were having problems with the door to the actual room. That room was a mess anyway. A good designer should have known about the bigger elevator. Matt looks like the actor who played Elliot Demaro on "Just Shoot Me." I'm not surprised Stephanie went home. Her commercial was very cutesy. She had her hands behind her back and acted a bit coy.

| Re: Design Star I thought that Tracee did well this week. She's really calmed down the bitchiness, didn't try and take credit for every thing or pass the buck when she was criticized for something. I also thought she made a real constructive contribution to the design of the room. I was pleased. Yes I agree with the previous writer, the right one went home this week. (Matt and Mikey V did exceptionally well this week. I still like that idea someone expressed earlier that the new show should be called "Design Crimes" and have Mikey V burst through a door with a hot glue gun. I'd sure watch it. |

| Re: Design Star This is a bit off topic. What is with this latest style of wearing polo shirts. I've noticed it on some of the designers on this show and elsewhere. I don't know how long this has been the "trend". Tucked in at the front and untucked on the side and back. The only thing missing is TP stuck to their shoe to make the look complete. Make a choice. Tucked or untucked. |

| Re: Design Star Since it was an old hotel they probably did not have a freight elevator. Certainly they would have thought of that when it wouldn't fit in the other one. I wonder if the other team measured or just got lucky. I agree ChristopherHawke. Tracee did do well this week and she may have been the key factor in making that room special. The difference in the suites was huge. Tracee was responsible for making the bar area a feature and whoever thought of the coffee maker and food baskets, good for you. I didn't like the color of the bedroom but they may have been the translation to TV. I have heard designers talk about certain colors working for TV and ones to avoid. That pink is one to avoid in my book. The leather couch was a flagrant error for shabby chic! How could she not know this?! It was probably too late to return it. The editing cut some things that would have been interesting. It was clear, at the judging, that Jennifer and Matt had trouble with Stephanie and were visibly restraining themselves. They did a good job, too. ![]() So someone gets taken away in the ambulence because we hear Vern saying, "you were one person down". I will guess a nasty cut from a power tool or a broken hand or ankle/foot from a fall or something heavy being dropped. |

I'm not sure who was wearing a shirt as you describe, but when you're working as the designers were, tucked shirts are bound to become untucked. Back to the episode: Trish's room was very nice. I wouldn't be surprised if the hotel decided to keep it like that permanently. The coffee maker and snacks were a great touch.

| Re: Design Star Isn't Sara Evens beautiful? While we don't have the same design preferences, I like that she was so detailed in her likes and dislikes. Both teams took advantage of the fact that she pointed out the primer-stripped looking doors she was using in her home, and, like I mentioned, I have different preferences, but it was important they picked up a detail like that. Where Jennifer's team first blew it was with the leather couch. That wasn't Sara's idea of comfortable - soft, squishy and white was. I felt bad for Stephanie. Her contribution - shopping - went bust. While she finally (last minute) found the couch she only measured length by the sound of it and height turned out to be the problem. I liked her - knew she probably wouldn't last, but she had a fun and flaky approach that made it past the first round, unlike other flaky people who haven't. With only two men left, I think Jennifer better really pull something off next week - or else, she or Tracee will be next. We have a FrontRunner! Trish came off as mature and organized this show, as well as a camera ready host. I agree with Vern - she is the one to beat. I worry about the injury shown in previews and hope it wasn't one where someone had to leave the show...they all deserve as fair shot as the numbers get fewer and fewer.

| Re: Design Star Matt was terribly disappointed/surprised/shocked that he didn't get the heaping praise that Trish got for his on air appearance. He was good; she was better, but he didn't necessarily seem unnatural/affected on camera to me.
