I find myself almost rooting for Tracee to succeed, not because I like her, but because I think she's overly villified by the others (no way will she win the vote anyway!). Granted, her room really stunk this week, but at least she attempted to pull design elements from the country. The cabana (again with the black walls! STOP IT! Stop it NOW!) didn't say anything Mexico to me, for instance. And the Asian room was more generally Asian than Thai. I disagree with whichever judge said Thai was simple--have they seen Thai temples and costumes? It's very ornate. But at least he tried to bring in elements of the country he was assigned. The other Italy contribution was nice--loved the walls. But the rest was blah. When are these designers going to stop (a) painting walls black (seriously, would you paint the walls in your home black? Maybe a home theater room, but any other space?) (b) using chartreuse? So sick of the lime green chartreuse. Isn't that like, so yesterday? ![]() | |

| Re: Design Star Seriously snooky... I'm with you. I painted my bedroom lime green & purple when I was 5 years old!!!! and black was interesting ONCE... why keep repeating? Last weeks show had some of the worst designs EVER on Design star. |

| Re: Design Star I don't get Tracee staying over Michael. No, his room did not echo Spain but it was still a far better design than Tracee's - who has been on the chopping block every single time! Given she has been bottom each time, it seems to me she should have gone on that basis alone. But even if they had to consider only the challenge of those rooms, her tacky room vs. not Spain - seems like a no brainer to me. I have to say, though, based on the rooms of the first individual challenge, I would not hire any one of the designers. |

| Re: Design Star Yesterday's mini-marathon is the 1st time that I have ever watched this show. I actually liked Michael until the third challenge. I thought it was wholly unnecessary for him to lie to Tracee to her face and then say how he really felt to the camera. Although, he looked to have a good sense of design, do you all think that perhaps the judges, after looking at the footage, did not want to risk giving a 23 year old, who does not have the brains not to let his true nasty colors show, his own television show. Let's be honest. Likability is a huge part of doing 'reality/talk/how to shows.' And for those who watch HGTV regularly, I think that will play a large part. I only watch 'House Hunters.' on HGTV and I guess this show now. I'm hooked! ![]() |

| Re: Design Star Is anyone going to watch tonight? It's on opposite L&O CI. I switch back and forth. The show is now starting. There are 2 teams of three. The team leaders got to choose "playground style" their team mates. Tracee is with the police officer and Trish. (I can't remember all the names, sorry). Sara Evans said she likes shabby chic and softer colors.

| Re: Design Star I've already seen it (east coast) and I won't give it away, but it's a good episode. Jennifer needs to do her husband a favor and get a makeover before she sees him again. She looks a hot mess! The girl with the big bazooms has really great hair!

| Re: Design Star Uh-oh, the "right person went home" doesn't sound good. Tracee is getting a bad edit (deservedly so) but so is someone on the other team. Yikes, the tension is unbearable. ![]()
