Scott Baio is 45...and Single

Wow, vgood, it's rare for me to read a post and think to myself , but there's nothing more I can add. You've got Scott completely pegged, as well as this ridiculous premise of a "show." He is no more looking for a bride than I am. Many posts ago, I talked about how if he had simply married (God forbid ), it might have made headlines in gossip rags for maybe a week (I'm being generous ). This way, he gets publicity for as many weeks as the show has been picked up.

I also agree with Lois' (Lois's? ) post below. Scott is no where near the league of George Clooney. I have no problem with George being forthright about saying he'll never get married because at least he's being honest about it.

Whoa, is Johnny V toxic. Doesn't he always sound combative and very disrecpectful of women, especially Doc Ally? While the mud wrestling was fun and I don't think it was too out of line for him to mud up Scott, his reaction, angry, to Scott telling him it was not funny was scary. Johnny V sounds always as if he is on the edge of being incredibly violent. He is not drinking but comes across as a mean and abusive drunk. If Scot leaves him what is there in his life. I can see him being a stalker and hurting Scott. Johnny V is not funny, does he work. The fact that he is in his late forties and only targets girls in their late teens and early 20's is scary. What girl in her right mind would even sleep with him. The idea just makes me want to vomit. Yeck!!

I love Dr. Ali. She is a credit to her career. I might have spit on Johnny V. The spin-off of this show is going to be Johnny V. going to Dr. Ali.

I would never watch that. I think Johnny is playing a part like the rest of them. As obnoxious and desperate as he is, you've at least got to hand it to him for going all out and committing to his "character."

As for Ally, she sounded more like an intrusive junior high friend than a therapist "Do you want me to talk to him for you? Because I will!" WRONG!!

Exactly! Now, if some misguided women are trying to be "the one" who changes George's mind, have at it. But they were warned...so they have no right to be angry that he wasted the best years of their lives if they knew going in what they were up against...

I didn't see tonight's episode but it sounds like the show is going downhill... I was really enthusiastic to watch the show before it aired...but once I caught a few episodes...it was kind of meh.

As much as I may or may not like Dr. Ali, I was glad that she stood up to Johnny V. He needs a reality check and quick!

It is obvious that Johnny V does not like strong women. He made all kinds of nasty remarks about Doc Ali and her "man" biceps. He has no respect for women at all. He is a pig. I hope for Scott and Renee's sake that the "break" will be a permanent one.

Just a thought. Could it possibly be Johhny V's influence over the years along with Scott's marriage phobia that is causing Scott's problems with commitment? Johnny knows that if a woman came into the picture permanently, the party would be over.

All too true, but I don't think scott has any more respect for women than Johnny V does. Scott is simply better at masking it.

And scripted or not, a mostly naked, mud-covered Johnny V desparately scampering around scott, begging him to stay was quite possibly the most pathetic thing I've ever seen in my life. I felt embarassed for him. I didn't think it was possible for him to sink any lower, but there it was.

ETA: I noticed this for the first time: during the opening voiceover with cartoon scott explaining the purpose of the show,
he says his friends are "partially responsible" for the man he is today. Um, way to own up scott.
That just bugged me.

Scott gets first pick, creepy Johnny is the bottom dweller who went around sleeping with Scott's rejects. Though I doubt Scott will ever get married, or if he does, that it will last, the first thing his life coach should have advised him to do was dump that loser friend of his. If Renee sticks with Scott after this (and I read somewhere she is five months pregnant by him), she needs to torpedo that friendship. Of course, if she does, Scott will go around crying about how she is smothering him, and that my friends will be season two, Scott Baio is Married and Miserable.

Wow! Very well said! My husband summed him up in two words. Dirt bag.
