After recently launching a flagship US store on Hollywood Boulevard, celebrity make-up artist Napoleon Perdis has signed up to produce and star in his very own reality TV show.
Face On will follow a group of aspiring make-up artists competing for a cash prize and a shoot with a major US magazine. All this while they learn the ropes from Perdis, whose 15-year make-up career includes cover shoots with Australian Vogue; appearances on Australia's Next Top Model; and working with celebrities, including Melissa George, Paula Abdul, Gemma Ward, Jerry Hall, Nicolette Sheridan, Raven Simone and Miranda Kerr.
Fox TV Studios in the USA has bought the rights to produce the show, which Perdis describes as, "a cross between The Apprentice and Project Runway". Production will commence later this year.
The TV deal came after Napoleon was signed with Endeavor Talent Agency — the same talent agency that represents prominent actors and personalities such as Hugh Jackman, Keira Knightly, Jude Law, Michael Moore and Adam Sandler.
Endeavor's Jessica Thomas says of Perdis, "His universally appealing quality and charisma will make him a big success in the US television marketplace. We look forward to working with him and helping him gain international success."
"He will work with Endeavor to develop other ideas in the television arena. He recently opened his first Los Angeles flagship store in Hollywood, which only marks the beginning of his pre-eminence abroad."
Details are not yet available as to when the show will air in Australia.
