Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

My thoughts are that Amanda and Brooke will be final two. Although Brooke is 22, she is VERY young...acts MUCH younger than Amanda. Amanda has a poise and maturity about her. It appears that Brooke is just in awe of the fella, doubtful that she has much dating experience. On the boat date, she acted more like she was 15 than 22.

Rumor is that Farmer and the gal he picks are already history so it truly doesn't much matter who he chooses.

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

Hi! I've been a long time reader, so thought I would finally chime in. Love the show and the "creative" eliminations. Much more amusing than a rose ceremony!! I thought that Brooke's date would entail more than being out in a boat. Maybe it did and it was just the edit. I do think it will come down to Amanda (my fave) and Brooke. I think Miss B won the talent show due to audience participation. Amanda has a beautiful voice and did the song really well. Love the sleuthing that's done here, too!!

PackerFan! I'm glad you joined us.

My kneejerk reaction when Brooke won the contest was in line with PSU in thinking it was fixed. But, what you said about audience participation is probably what happened.

As far as marriage readiness, from what I remember reading at the website, Amanda seems to be at that transition point between school and life and has herself told Matt it would be a long engagement. Brooke is the nanny from Dallas and for her it would be more of a life change that would be easier to mesh. She may not be truly ready for marriage, though. She only copped to liking, or having feelings for Matt this past show.

Sidenote on Brooke: Now that Lisa is gone, she has shown herself to be a much more mellow, uncrazy person. I think Lisa as instigator of their pranks held Brooke back from showing more of her personality. I also noted that she was drinking beer with the girls during the evening "game" session. She is more like them than Lisa, and now is not afraid to show it.

Once again, like the big bad franchise that started this next generation of dating shows, the time frame and circumstance are too tight and weird for a lasting romance (exceptions, of course, Trista/Ryan and "Outback" Jack and his chosen.) I'm not surprised to read there is no longer a connection between Matt and his chosen; BUT, it has made for a fun alternative dating show to start off the summer!

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

Thanks for the welcome!!

Next week's episode willl be interesting with the interaction with Matt's family. Anxious to see how the girls are questioned and their answers (or the answers WE see/hear due to editing!)

Brooke's behavior is different without Lisa around. Wonder what its really like with the 4 of them and how they behave with each other off camera!

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

I didn't like Amanda for a couple of episodes because she was part of the catty 3, with Christa and Ashlee. But now it seems that Christa is the only one being truly hateful to Brooke. So I like Amanda again.

Amanda, Brooke final 2 is very possible, unless they want to set up a good girl/bad girl Final 2 like in Flavor of Love or Rock of Love. Then i could totally see it being Christa vs brooke with Brooke as F1

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

Enjoyed the show last night. Hubby kept yelling at the TV...he hates Christa and wants her gone! LOL
I was a Brooke fan all along and thought she was a victim of selective editing. I was glad to see Lisa go.
All these girls are too young to settle down, so I'm not suprised to read that Matt and whoever he picked are already history.
Matt however is my kinda guy. Too bad I'm too old and already married. hee

The elimination was unusual, that's fer sure. But can you imagine that experience! Something you'll never do again.

Matt showed a little more personality last night. I was glad to see that. We all giggled that he walked away when KJ ate the pig's ear.
Sorry...I just do not see her on any kind of farm.

Can't wait to see who gets the next date. My money is on Amanda...with her and Brooke making the F2.

Interesting that the one with the huge cross necklace is the one who shows herself to be truly hateful.

"We all giggled that he walked away when KJ ate the pig's ear."

And was KJ asking about the snout, too?? Did Matt or I can't remember the other man's name that was there, say that they give the pig ears to the dogs? I know we used to give them to ours!! I can't imagine eating them. Yuck!!

Do you think it will be Amanda? (I hope) Though Christa hasn't had a date in a long time - he may want to revisit alone time with her. Or I wonder if his family will pick who he goes on the date with next? If only it could be next Wed already! LOL!!!

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

I agree with you all... the cow... ewwwwww. The fireworks, the sampler, the moonshine, the bingo, the egg, THE COW... who knew I would ever just want someone to get a rose.

Christa is just mean. I think Amanda deserved to win the talent competition if you're judging talent alone; however, Brooke has a way of winning over the folks so I wasn't surprised she won.

I wish I could like Amanda again. She was my favorite at first, especially after the dinner with the parents but I just can't get past the fact that she was so awful when with the other two - Ashley and Christa. If she can act that way, not just once, but several times then something is just off. JMO

This is how I feel too. Brooke is the ONLY one that hasn't been seen in any kind of negative light or using any "words." I'm hoping it will be her. NOW - all I want to do is figure out is it real or not? I think not. Matt may be ready to settle down, but I don't think he's ready to propose to any of the girls yet. And from what I hear he's been in touch with "a few" of the early farm girls.

I haven't been watching shows like this too long, but I imagine you do form a strong bond going through the filming together.

RANT: I asked this in The Bachelor thread but no one responded (hope I'm allowed to say this!) Why do all of these shows have to be about a proposal? Was it always like that? The title of this one is cute, so I guess it would have to fit, but why can't these guys just "choose" someone they would like to explore a relationship with? TPTB have set the bar way too high IMHO!

Arielflies, I agree with you - this is the perfect show for summer, light and frothy. I hope it comes back! And I like Matt. I hope he doesn't do something to change my mind.

So who goes next week - Christa, finally!
