Kanisha slipped just a tad with the "no cooking...hard to read recipe problem. Brooke also slipped up in that department. Amanda shone. This is becoming a see-saw of who shines and who declines.

We don't see all the interaction Matt has with the girls, but we do see if there is a connection. Right now, he has some sort of "romantic" connection with everyone except the mature (haha) Ashlee and the untried Brooke.

I'm sorry Seacharm, but hunting is part of rural life. I grew up in a hunting family and my brother, who now lives in Montana, hunts every season. Because of a couple of handgun incidents, I won't go near guns anymore, but, as a child, if you wanted to be included in family activities - you hunted and you fished.

I really enjoyed seeing the town fair with all the local flair. I thought it was so cute that Amanda sat between a couple of kids (one a boy) on the Merry-Go-Round and later was seen hugging him goodbye. I thouhgt, uh, oh Matt...better watch your laurels...that kid looks to be stealing one of your girls. Did you notice that the whole crowd turned around before the name in lights went off...when Matt said "turn around" both they and the girls turned around. Made it seem as though the "rejectee" was not alone in this. And the pie judging. Brooke's comment about "they are like Simon Cowell" cracked me up.

Looking forward to next week!
I've never understood it when people say, "Well hunting is a part of country life." We hunted many an animal to extinction. What sport is there in that. I think the only form of truly FAIR hunting is to turn the hunter out in the woods, naked with only his mind to go up against moose, elk, bison, etc. After all our brain is what separates us from the "beasts", so we can use that and the bears can use their size, sense of smell, hearing, etc. as it's assets. because that's what gawd gave it.

God I miss Josie. WHY WHY WHY did she have to leave us so early? I don't feel like I got my closure yet.

I think that some do hunt for sport, which is wrong; and some hunt and divide up the "meat" among those hunting. Are you Vegan?

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

Been lurking for a while...just got up the nerve to register.
Wanted to say that I was skeptical of this show at first...but I'm lovin' it almost more than the Bachelorette.
I'm pulling for Brooke...have from the beginning.
But as I read through this thread, I see some detective work leaning towards another outcome.

Matt is my kinda guy.

WELCOME french dip! Hey, don't count Brooke out. This show has been a see-saw of those in favor and those out of favor all season. Last show Brooke got an iffy edit with the paprika pie (though she did tell the judges not to eat it) and the cheek kiss. But, I have a feeling the way they are editing that she'll either be redeemed this next week or go home. And, since Ashlee received the edit from hell this past, she'll probably go home this week.

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

Thanks Arielflies! (Great name, BTW)

I heard from someone on another board I belong to that she lives in/near the town where this was filmed.
She said it was funny to see it depicted as such a hokey place when the mall was just down the road.

The first night of the show, I said to my husband that the waitress from NY (Christa, I think) would be so out of her element that she'd be the first to go....but she's still there.
Show's how good I am with this stuff! LOL

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

The scene where he is driving Amanda to his folks house for dinner, you could see the city skyline in the distance. Yes, they are on a farm and in a farming community, but they sure are not rural.

Regarding Christa - there hasn't been that much time for eliminations to this point, and with one at a time she'll probably be there for a while. She is soooo city, it is funny, yet she takes on the chores. At this point I think she is in it mainly for the competition and not for Matt.

The ones I see actually interested in Matt are Amanda, Brooke and Kanisha. I just rewatched the past episode (pie contest) online and Amanda is so cute in this epi. When he held her (arm around her shoulder) during the elimination, they just looked so good together. She told him during their drinking game that it would take awhile in a relationship before she would marry. He kept a neutral face. We'll see how this all plays out.

I like your name as well. French Dip is my favorite sandwich!

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

In defense of Ashley

1. the phrase she used has become pretty common shorthand (although a little crude if you're on a tv show) for asking whether you are interested in someone, in fact i overheard it in a conversation this morning at a fancy Beverly Hills gym.

2. Matt started the string of questions by asking how much she WEIGHED, so my opinion he deserved whatever smidgen of humiliation he got!

ok back to the Laker game...

What, are you serious? Where were those women in my day and where is that fancy gym exactly? Just kidding, that would be crude to me in person, forget about a TV show.

Re: Farmer Wants a Wife

Can't wait for tonight! It's so great to watch a show that is cute and funny, and no one feels terrible after eliminations.

Don't count Kanisha out! They do have chemistry. But I'm waiting to see the date with Brooke. Matt seems like a guy who has values and is concerned about all of the girls. I could definitely see him with Brooke. But from what I've "seen" so far, he's not falling "in love" with any of them. So even though he picks one to "stay on the farm and be the farmer's wife," I'd be surprised if there is an engagement right away!
