I would like the show IF it wasn't for the loudish southern realtor. She is obnoxious and I just can't get past her.

You don't have to attend every argument you are invited to.
Really enjoyed the 4 episode run of The Brian Boitano Project where he goes to Italy and buys the old family home and restores it.
No goat killers on my island.
He breaks down the cost by episode.
He bought the house for $30,000.
He has a renovation budget of $117,000.
He spent between $8,000 to $9,000 decorating the house using a combination of old and new, using items he already had and re-purposing objects (the wine bottle chandelier).
That adds up to just under $156,000 for the entire project.

I caught three of the episodes of the Boitano Project and loved it. I really liked that he kept the integrity of the structure and did his updating through decorating. I had to laugh when he talked about the modern chairs he brought with him in his suitcase. They were mid-century modern, not modern, modern.

Whenever it was that we first got cable that included HGTV (probably 10-13 years ago), there were a lot of shows about making over a single room. I miss those. Maybe I'm watching at the wrong times, but he only recent one I can think of is Genevieve's where she makes over a room using high-end materials, and then recreates it on a much smaller budget. It seems like all that's ever on now is Love It or List It and Property Bros.
Your eyes do not deceive you, Kip. Along with variations of House Hunters and a couple of other renovation shows, the days of the design shows appear to be over. I miss them, too.

^^That's why I watch very little HGTV they have taken the best shows off. I hate Love It Or List It. Both ones.

I like Love It or List It in small doses, but after a whole day of it today, I've had it.
I, too, miss the decorating shows. It's all reno shows now.
Seeking form amidst the void.
But if that's not possible, gimme a Margarita...shaken, not stirred...and hold the salt, please.
