Re: Rock of Love (VH1) I only started watching this show toward the end of the season so most of the women were complete strangers, but I still didn't begrudge the hour or so that it took to wrap things up. In the end only Brett and Lacey really came out of this looking bad. Bret the manwhore that gets turned on by everything gave the disgusting Gene Simmons a run for his money here. He seems like a nice guy, but his need for multiple sex partners will probably negate any possibility he will have for a meaningful relationship. Jess could have come across as a total bitch, but she saved herself by her compassion for Heather and her comments about not knowing half the time what Bret and Heather were talking about. She was a fish out of water in his life style and would never have tolerated his cheating. Heather's prank with the tattoo was hysterical and I'm embarrassed to say that I totally fell for it. I was surprised to see after all this time that she was still hurt by the rejection. When she stormed off after the show, I saw only anger and bitterness. I thought it was horrible of Bret to say that he had hoped for a friendship and sexual relationship with Heather even after he rejected her on the show. Lacey continues to be boring and loathsome. I liked hearing Sam say that she would never have trusted Bret on the road.

| Re: Rock of Love (VH1) She only appeared that way because she was interested in the fame and lifestyle. You saw how nasty she became when she didn't win.

Re: Rock of Love (VH1) I dunno, it was gossip mentioned in post #592. I liked this series. I missed some of the early shows but saw the important stuff, I think. It wouldn't surprise me if it WAS one of VH-1's highest rated series. It was much less stupid than FlavorFlav. (Maybe I'm just more accepting of bandanas and cowboy hats than of clock necklaces and viking hats.) I do like Hogans, though. But it doesn't have the same draw, the same intrigue, as ladies looking for love with a rock star I guess. When all is said and done, I still like Bret (in the pretend world, where he is in my TV and not in my real life). I was quite surprised that Heather kept the "Bret" tattoo for 6 months. I thought for sure she'd have it lasered off right away. I do think the two of them had the most genuine connection. But I agree that Heather seemed to keep herself distant from Bret during the reunion. Surely she must have known by then that Jess/Bret were no longer an item. I wonder who knew, and who didn't.

Re: Rock of Love (VH1) P.S. Okay I've watched some extra clips on VH-1, and Heather really does seem detached now, as if she's looking at the whole thing scientifically like Jess instead of emotionally. I was surprised at some of her comments in the extra clips. From the reunion show, I got the impression that there still might be a chance between the two of them. But after seeing the extra comments, she seems to be looking back sadly on what might've been and yet no desire to still see what might be. Perhaps their time has passed. AND, Bret asking Jes to go out for a meal after the show, and Jes abruptly saying "My plane leaves at midnight", (i.e. "no way"). Clearly she is extremely ready to put that whole chapter of her life behind her. Can't believe she won't even address him anymore... she really IS pissed at him. He's been on tour the whole time since the series was taped, so perhaps he didn't call her very often. Maybe she interprets that as him not caring about her. I really do think that Bret is looking for a steady sex partner, and doesn't fully understand why that is NOT the same thing as a relationship that the females were seeking from him. I dunno, the whole show seemed pretty devoid of any true affection between anyone. Even the pink dress girls were missing something.

Re: Rock of Love (VH1) RE: LACY Lacy and Bret were friends before the show, and may have actually dated each other. Lacy was a "plant". She fronted an industrial rock band called NOCTURNE . Lacy was asked to play the part of the Bitch and loved doing it (it lends credence to her "wicked girl" persona for her band). Everyone was playing a role here-Heather was the hooker with the heart of gold, Jes was the young, self assured heroine, etc....... Bret was looking to get his name back in lights, not to fall in love. Gotta love "reality" tv.

Re: Rock of Love (VH1) Very interesting, horsnhound. She did her job very well! I couldn't stand her. And I have to admit that I didn't take the show too seriously. For one thing, I don't believe love can be found like that. I didn't watch the start of this show. Were there any girls there that actually thought this was real? And I'd be afraid to touch Bret. There's no telling how many hundreds of women he's been "acquainted" with, if you know what I mean.

Re: Rock of Love (VH1) I personally enjoyed the reunion show. I think Heather needs to let Stacy and Clinton work her over..if there was anyone who ever needed What Not To Wear, it's Heather. I cant imagine what you do to your hair to make it look as awful as it did on the reunion show. The thing is...this was a tv show. It was a raunchy version of The Bachelor, and they copied a lot of things right out of the Bachelor playbook. Like Lacey wrote on her MySpace blog- it was a tv show, and nothing more than that to anybody. Except Heather. One gets the feeling that the show was a serious career move for Heather, that she wants to hook onto somebody, anybody, for a ticket out of the stripper clubs...and onto the D-List celebrity party circuit, of course. There has been talk that Bret and Lacey have known each other for some time, which fits what we saw on the show. She was there for the sole purpose of creating drama on the show and promoting her band. If they've known each other for a while, it's not that surprising that she was slipping into his room at nite. *Let us PRAY that VH1 isnt serious about doing anything more with Lacey.* Bret needed the exposure to a younger audience for his music and performances. It worked-a lot of us had never heard of him before the show. He bought himself a few more years of celebrity by doing Rock of Love. The girls were chosen on the basis of looks and personality and availability to be on a tv show for weeks. Lots of them were from Chicago, including Jes. Jes was living with someone named Quade here in Chicago (in Naperville, to be exact) before the show, and at the conclusion of filming, she went home to him. It wouldnt surprise me if the way things played out was scripted in advance, given that she was in a relationship when she went on the show. Bret has returned to the mother of his children-he never really left; again this was just a tv show. What I read indicates that Rodeo is involved with Big John. Since she was rather unbelievable on the show-obviously older than the rest of the girls and didnt really fit in with that group...I think she was someone that's been around the band for a while and was cast to be on it, to play a certain role. Just speculation on my part, tho. It was just a tv show, folks, not a real life 'looking for love' drama.
