    The Next Best Thing (ABC)

did anyone watch this tonight? it was hilarious!

Idol style, but looking for celebrity impersonators.
    some were amazingly good -
    Bono
    Robin Williams
    The Honeymooners

    and a LOT were delusional.

but it was fun to watch the auditions, which will go on for awhile.

Any other night of the week nobody calls but for some reason everyone was calling during the show The parts I did catch were pretty funny. Many of the contestants did a good job. Others, not so good I like how they had to run the Ann-Margaret lookalike off the stage.

I hope it will replay on the ABC website.

I watched, and I agree with your assessment; while watching, I said, "Delusion obviously crosses all reality show borders." I did think that the Martha Stewart impersonator was better than the judges did.

I thought that it was unfair that the Sam Kinison/Al Pacino impersonator was billed as a professional, although he was great. But he didn't look much like anyone that he was impersonating.

I'll probably watch it again, even if only to amuse myself with the snide comments my husband and I came up with. LOL

Loved Robin Williams, Lucy and Little Richard. Most were eh, funny though.

yes. I forgot Lucy and Little Richard.
He was pretty amazing - even off stage he looked like him. Haunting.

I finally watched this last night, it was hysterical! I love the judges!
Lucy was great so was little Richard and Bono actually just about everyone they put through was very very good.
Jack was ok. I felt kind of sorry for that older man that tried to do Connery,
    Bond, James Bond.

It would have helped if he actually had done Connery's voice. People have to realize that they are not looking for celebrity look alikes. Also, imitating a character played by an actor is not impersonating that actor.

I did enjoy it though, especially the Robin Williams impersonation.
